The conservative Center for Security Policy recently issued a warning that Sharia law was being implemented in American courts. Its spokesperson said that Islamic religious demands are arriving mostly through rulings involving cases where foreigners are the principals and he commented that "Sharia enters U.S. courts through the practice of comity to foreign law."

I shall discuss comity in a moment, but first let me share with you the reaction to this assertion regarding Sharia law. The wonder of the Internet is that it allows reader reaction. There were 237 postings the day that I received this email. Here are some examples: any judge within the United States who invokes the use of any foreign laws should be locked up for treason; wake the hell up America; not only is Sharia not the law of the United States of America, it is the law of the Devil and against the law of God; and my favorite, sent in capital letters — ELIMINATE ALL MUSLIMS THAT ARE FORCING ISLAMIC LAWS AND THEIR DEATH CULT RELIGION.

This hysteria is fueled by conservative politicians. Newt Gingrichhas called for a federal law outlawing Sharia law, declaring, "Sharia law is a moral threat to the survival of freedom in the United States and in the world as we know it." Such a law has been proposed in the House of Representatives (H.R. 973). The Tennessee General Assembly recently passed a law that states that Sharia promotes "the destruction of the national existence of the United States." More than a dozen other states are considering a similar law.

Now it's time to discuss the concept of comity to foreign law. The United States has no bilateral treaty, nor is it a signatory to any international convention that requires our courts to recognize or enforce foreign judgments or laws. However, an American court can enforce a foreign judgment if it feels that it is compatible with American standards of fairness and procedural legitimacy. An example: An Israeli couple living in America can enforce a divorce decree from a religious court in Israel based on Jewish law or aSaudi couple can enforce a divorce decree from a religious court in Saudi Arabia based on Sharia law — if, and this is a most important if, the court decides that either divorce decree is reasonable based on American legal standards.

Another way that Sharia law legitimately can be implemented in American courts is through the use of arbitration. Arbitration is often used in business disputes to avoid expensive and time-consuming court litigation. Both parties agree to be bound by the arbitrator's decision and such decisions can be enforced by a court of law. Two Muslims can decide to use a court that applies Sharia business standards and its decision would be enforceable under the American legal system. There is nothing sinister here. It's their business dispute and it's their American right to decide it as they wish.

I am compelled to share with you a piece written on the blog TPM (Talking Points Memo) by Josh Marshall: "In our investigation into the growth of Sharia Law in the USA we came across some surprising findings. Numerous American cities now have one or more Muslim religious courts in operation where believers go to adjudicate family law disputes, real estate transactions and various other matters according to Sharia law by binding arbitration. These religious court verdicts can then be enforced by civilian American courts. Various states have also passed laws to codify Muslim dietary laws, though a few of these laws have been struck down. And numerous national corporations now process foods to suit Muslim dietary standards. Finally, one jurisdiction in New York has been settled entirely by devout Muslims: no candidates run for office except those approved by the local imam; road signs in the town are all printed in both English and Arabic; and various local practices have been brought into line with Sharia.

"Actually, there's one detail I didn't mention. The law here isn't Sharia; it's Halakhah, Jewish religious law. And all of the above are true if you change 'Muslim' to 'Jewish' and 'Arabic' to 'Hebrew.' (Actually, Yiddish written in the Hebrew script, to be specific.)"

Marshall then comments: "All true. And yet I think it's a pretty good example of the fact that the kinds of things (with Muslims) that are supposed to make us run around with our hair on fire, are already happening and have been for decades with Jews and no one seems to care because, frankly, why should they?"

The American Muslim community is predominantly middle class, eschews terrorism and votes Democratic. (Maybe that's the reason the Republican conservatives target it) A recent poll by the highly respected Pew Research Center shows that Muslims exhibit the highest level of integration among major American religious groups, expressing greater degrees of tolerance toward people of other faiths than do Protestants, Catholics or Jews. It also indicated that nearly 80 percent of American Muslims rate their communities a good place to live, despite the existence of anti-Islamic rhetoric. This highlights the absurdity of anti-Sharia law agitation.

Not only do we do an injustice to American Muslims, but we do harm to America. The Yale historian Eliyahu Stern has written: "In the 20th century we thrived by promoting a Judaic-Christian ethic, respecting differences and accentuating commonalities among Jews, Catholics and Protestants. Today, we need an Abrahamic ethic that welcomes Islam into the religious tapestry of American life. Anti-Sharia legislation fosters a hostile environment that will stymie the growth of America's tolerant strand of Islam. The continuation of America's pluralistic religious tradition depends on the ability to distinguish between punishing groups that support terror and blaming terrorist activities on a faith that represents roughly a quarter of the world's population."

In less academic and more visceral terms this sentiment was expressed by a local Muslim, as reported by theSun Sentinel, in response to Congressman Alan West's attack on Islam: "It's sleazy politics to whip up fear of Muslims. It's a dirty, sleazy tactic to attack a religion."

Since I am writing in a Jewish newspaper, I cannot conclude without mentioning a recent study by the Center for American Progress which shows that seven foundations have spent more than $40 million in the last 10 years to spread misinformation about Muslim Americans. The Forward editorially commented, "And who leads those efforts? Far too many Jews." It goes on to name Pamela Geller, David Yerushalmi, Daniel Pipes and Steven Emerson, who even criticized President George W. Bush and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for being soft on Muslims.

Thank you very much for inviting me.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.

First, I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe . Then, I will say a few things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem .

The Europe you know is changing.

You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.

All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe . These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe . With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam , Marseille and Malmo in Sweden . In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities.

In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'. Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin.

In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity.

In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan.

Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya , Israel .. I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.

A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live. San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France .. One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate. Muslims demand what they call 'respect'. And this is how we give them respect. We have Muslim official state holidays.

The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority. We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey ..

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the banlieus. I call the perpetrators 'settlers'. Because that is what they are. They do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore, they are settlers.

Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighborhoods, their cities, their countries. Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored.

The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet. His behavior is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized. Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several marriages - at the same time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. If it is good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.

Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means 'submission'. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia. If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor. I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I support Israel . First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz; second because it is a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defense.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial advance. Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines , Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan , Lebanon , and Aceh in Indonesia .. Israel is simply in the way. The same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war against Israel is not a war against Israel . It is a war against the West. It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us. If there would have been no Israel , Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest. Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming.

Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities. But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values. On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam. They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed. The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning. It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination. If they can get Israel , they can get everything. So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'.

In my country, the Netherlands , 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and Jerusalem ....

Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives. All throughout Europe , American cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish. My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians. We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe 's children in the same state in which it was offered to us. We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams. Future generations would never forgive us. We cannot squander our liberties. We simply do not have the right to do so.

We have to take the necessary action now to stop this Islamic stupidity from destroying the free world that we know.

Bigotry of Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain and Right wing Republicans

I am starting a series to take on the the Right wing Republicans... There are many things in this article that will become talking points to moderate Americans who want to fight back the right wingers attacking Muslims, Hindus, Jews and others, there is short poem written as an example tomake Texans, New Yorkers and Californians angry, it is to make the point about false accusations against Muslims.

There are four clear points communicated in this article and God willing more to come through 2012 Elections. I am going on a Drive America Tour this fall talking about building a cohesive America. If you can arrange with your local Democrats and Republicans party to speak, I will be happy to do that.

As a disclosure, I am a moderate Republican and there are plenty of us, but most of them are gutless like most Muslims are and are afraid to speak up. I will fight with them to bring moderates to the front, you are right, I may not succeed but will make the points is crucial to activate the sleeping Moderate Americans to counter the right wing propaganda.

I am writing a series and will be talking on American Politics, if you wish to add your comment to my articles to be published in Huffington Post, Washington Post, OpEd News, New York Times and other papers. I will be happy to include, please let me know if you wish to contribute a sentence or a paragraph to it, you must be willing to stand up for the attacks from right wing Muslims and right wing Christians. It is time now. Let’s us be the catalysts for a safe, secure America.

The apparent recent surge in popular anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States has been driven by a surprisingly small and, for the most part, closely knit cadre of activists. Their influence extends far beyond their limited numbers, in part because of an amenable legion of right-wing media personalities — and lately, politicians like U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), who held controversial hearings into the radicalization of American Muslims this March —who are eager to promote them as impartial experts or grassroots leaders. Yet a close look at their rhetoric reveals how doggedly this group works to provoke and guide populist anger over what is seen as the threat posed by the 0.6% of Americans who are Muslim — an agenda that goes beyond reasonable concern about terrorism into the realm of demonization.
Of the 10 people profiled below, all but Bill French, Terry Jones and Debbie Schlussel regularly interact with others on the list. Most were selected for profiling primarily because of their association with activist organizations. People who only run websites or do commentary were omitted, with two exceptions: Schlussel, because she has influence as a frequent television talk-show guest, and John Joseph Jay, because he is on the board of Pamela Geller's Stop Islamization of America group. Three other activists, Steve Emerson, Daniel Pipes and Frank Gaffney, have interacted with many of the core group as well and also have offended many Muslims, but they are somewhat more moderate in their views of Muslims than those who are profiled below.

SUMMARY Geller has seized the role of the anti-Muslim movement's most visible and influential figurehead. Her strengths are panache and vivid rhetorical flourishes — not to mention stunts like posing for an anti-Muslim video in a bikini — but she also can be coarse in her broad-brush denunciations of Islam. Geller does not pretend to be learned in Islamic studies, leaving the argumentative heavy lifting to SIOA partner Spencer. She is prone to publicizing preposterous claims, such as President Obama being the "love child" of Malcolm X, and once suggested that recent U.S. Supreme Court appointee Elena Kagen, who is Jewish, supports Nazi ideology. Geller has mingled with European racists and fascists, spoken favorably of South African racists and defended Serbian war criminal Slobodan Milosevic. She is a self-avowed Zionist who is sharply critical of Jewish liberals.

He also provides some funding support for other anti-Muslim ventures, including, according to the blog SpencerWatch.com, paying Spencer $132,537 to run the JihadWatch website. Horowitz sees no philosophical gradations; if you're not in total agreement with his view of Islam, you're in favor of Muslim hegemony. He believes the Muslim Brotherhood and "Islamofascists" control most American Muslim organizations, especially Muslim student groups on college campuses.

Jones showed no remorse over the deaths, which included at least seven foreigners. Author of Islam is of the Devil (2010). Jones has admitted never having read the Koran. He has no academic or theological degree; his "doctorate" is honorary.

Author of numerous books including The Truth About Muhammad: Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion (2007) and The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) (2005).
SUMMARY Spencer is entirely self-taught in the study of modern Islam and the Koran. Critics have accused him of doggedly taking the Koran literally — Spencer considers it innately extremist and violent — while ignoring its nonviolent passages and the vast interpretive tradition that has modified Koranic teachings over the centuries. Spencer believes that moderate Muslims exist, but to prove it, they'd have to fully denounce the portions of the Koran he finds objectionable. Spencer has been known to fraternize with European racists and neo-fascists, though he says such contacts were merely incidental. Benazir Bhutto, the late prime minister of Pakistan, accused Spencer of "falsely constructing a divide between Islam and West" in her 2008 book, Reconciliation: Islam, Democracy, and the West. Spencer, she wrote, presented a "skewed, one-sided, and inflammatory story that only helps to sow the seed of civilizational conflict."

Yerushalmi drafted a proposed law filed this year in the Tennessee legislature that would subject anyone who advocates or adheres to Shariah customs to up to 15 years in prison; he drafted a similar bill in Georgia in 2008.
SUMMARY Yerushalmi equates Shariah with Islamic radicalism so totally that he advocates criminalizing virtually any personal practice compliant with Shariah. In his view, only a Muslim who fully breaks with the customs of Shariah can be considered socially tolerable. He waxes bloodthirsty when describing his preferred response to the supposed global threat of Shariah law, speaking casually of killing and destroying. Ideally, he would outlaw Islam and deport Muslims and other "non-Western, non-Christian" people to protect the United States' "national character." An ultra-orthodox Jew, he is deeply hostile toward liberal Jews. He derides U.S.-style democracy because it allows more than just an elite, privileged few to vote.

Over and over you hear it said: If Muslims oppose terrorism, why don't they stand up and say it?

If that has been you, Mike Ghouse ought to be your hero.

It is hard to imagine that anyone has worked harder than the Carrollton resident to demonstrate the peaceful and moderate side of Islam.

And that effort includes personally visiting Dallas' First Baptist Church last Sunday just to put a friendly face on the "evil, evil religion" that the Rev. Robert Jeffress denounced a few weeks before.

"It was wonderful," Ghouse said of the visit. "We were so warmly received."
He hopes a quick chat with Jeffress will be the start of deeper discussion about Islam and the importance of respect between religions.

"I want to have a dialogue with him, not to say he is wrong but to share another point of view," Ghouse said.

The 57-year-old Muslim was born in India and has lived in the United States for 30 years. He owns a small property management firm. But most of his day is devoted to building bridges between people of different faiths.

"It is my passion," he said in his distinctive raspy voice.

He has been a guest a dozen times on Sean Hannity's TV and radio talk shows. "I don't like the way Sean cuts me off, but I have to honor him for giving the American public a semblance of another point of view."

Ghouse said he can understand fear and criticism of Islam because he went through a time of similar feelings. As a teen, he was troubled by passages of the Quran. He called himself an atheist for a while.

But he said deeper study led him to realize the Quran had been purposely mistranslated down through history.

In the Middle Ages, European leaders commissioned a hostile Quran translation to foster warfare against Muslim invaders.

Later, Muslim leaders produced another translation to inflame Muslims against Christians and Jews.

"It was all for politics," he said.
Ghouse said he hopes to present Jeffress with a modern, faithful translation and challenge him to find evil verses.

"If he can, I will convert. I will join his church," Ghouse said. "If he can't, I will call on him to retract his statements and become a peacemaker."

Ghouse acknowledges that deep problems persist within Islam. "Three steps forward, two steps back," he said with a sigh.

And he agrees that mainstream Muslims have not done enough to counter violent images of their faith.

"That is very true," he said. "But part of it is that many Muslims have given up hope that we will ever be heard."

He said repeated denunciations of terrorism seem to fall on deaf ears.

And some efforts have backfired - like the proposed Islamic information center in New York. He said it should be hailed for furthering the moderate Muslim cause.
Instead, it has deepened hostility toward Muslims.

I have been astounded by the amount of anti-Islam propaganda that circulates via e-mail. Tons of it has come my way in the last few weeks.

One theme is that people like Mike Ghouse can't be trusted, that Islam encourages deception.

But Ghouse says actions speak louder than words. And he points to elections in Muslim nations.

More than half of Muslims live in countries with some degree of democracy. And time and time again, Islamist parties are overwhelmingly rejected in favor of secular, mainstream parties.

"The religious parties don't get more than 3 percent of the vote," Ghouse said.
Polls show deep mistrust of Muslims. "But the most important question in those surveys is: 'Do you know anything about Islam?' " Ghouse said. "Most people say no."
What keeps him going is faith in Americans, he said.

"The majority of Americans, if they know the truth, they will change their minds."

The good news is that the drivers of such hate are just a few that we can actually list, they are less than 1000th of 1%, unless we speak up they will mess up their own and every one's lives. The purpose of this blog is to make ourselves aware of those who peddle hate for a buck. They don't care if you are an American, Israeli, Iranian, Arab, Indian or Mexican or even a Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Mormon or a Buddhist... their God is money!

The irony is only a few religious people hammer hate from their pulpit such as Pat Robertson, John Hagee, late Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham Jr, Robert Jeffress, Rod Parsley and a few Rabbis, Imams and Pundits, but the bulk of them are men and women who have fake defending religion, but made that very religion a source of their livelihood.

These men are born to sell hate for cash, and as long as there are suckers out there, these parasites grow and enrich themselves and probably laugh at the nincompoops for falling prey to them. Every talk they give, every article they write, every website they own screams out loud for monies. One should give money if their money is used to mitigate conflicts and nurture goodwill but none of them has a record of it.

We need to avoid falling in to the pit of hate and resist the temptations to stereotype any one, as it leads to hate and consequences that are not healthy for a society.

Chief Military Rabbi Brigadier General Avi Ronzki

The Israeli Army's chief rabbi has caused controversy by calling on troops to 'show no mercy' in their attacks against Palestinians in Gaza.

Chief Military Rabbi Brigadier General Avi Ronzki had distributed pamphlets to Israeli troops implicitly sanctioning the killing of civilians.

"When you show mercy to a cruel enemy you are being cruel to pure and honest soldiers. These are not games at the amusement park where sportsmanship teaches one to make concessions. This is a war on murderers," the pamphlets read.

Human rights group Yesh Din has said that the pamphlet borders "on incitement and racism against the Palestinian people."

The group urged Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Army Chief General Gabi Ashkenazi to dismiss Ronzki.

The pamphlet also quotes statements made by Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, the extremist leader of the Jewish settlers in the West Bank - who opposes any compromise with Palestinians.

"The Palestinians claim they deserve a state here, when in reality there was never a Palestinian or Arab state within the borders of our country," the pamphlet quoted Aviner as saying.

According to the right group, the pamphlet contains "degrading and belittling messages that border on incitement and racism against the Palestinian people. These messages can be interpreted as a call to act outside of the confines of international laws of war."

Thousands of people, including women and children were killed or wounded during Israel's Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Army also used banned weapons, including white phosphorous and depleted uranium, to attack targets inside the populated area.

Just weeks after the arrest of alleged Jewish terrorist, Yaakov Teitel, a West Bank rabbi on Monday released a book giving Jews permission to kill Gentiles who threaten Israel.

Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro, who heads the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in the Yitzhar settlement, wrote in his book "The King's Torah" that even babies and children can be killed if they pose a threat to the nation.

Shapiro based the majority of his teachings on passages quoted from the Bible, to which he adds his opinions and beliefs.

"It is permissable to kill the Righteous among Nations even if they are not responsible for the threatening situation," he wrote, adding: "If we kill a Gentile who has sinned or has violated one of the seven commandments - because we care about the commandments - there is nothing wrong with the murder."

Several prominent rabbis, including Rabbi Yithak Ginzburg and Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, have recommended the book to their students and followers.

The Civil War, the Great Depression, the World War, Pearl Harbor, Women’s rights, Abortion, the Vietnam War, Civil Rights, Budget Deficits, Unemployment, 9/11, the Iraq and Afghanistan War have all been difficult, but we will make it through and sanity will prevail.

The controversy over the Muslim Community Center in New York has unraveled the difficulties Catholics, Jews, Mormons, Wicca and others have endured.

We have come a long way to embrace and accept the otherness of other. However, this year has given rise to yet another temptation; to blame Islam, calling it an evil, evil religion and calling its prophet a false prophet. No American has to live in fear of the other, nor live in anxieties or discomfort.

Religion has been “abused” and “misused” to someone’s advantage, as Americans, are we going to let that happen? No, we can pull ourselves together and not fall for the temptations to divide ourselves.

Those who say that Israel (Jews) should get out of Palestine because it is not Jewish land, you are nuts! It was the Muslims who took the land from the Jewish people in the first place and there were many other nations that also forced Jews to leave their land before them.

The Qur'an shows very clearly the pride taken by Mohammad and his merry men at killing Jewish men and chasing the Jews from their land. They were pirates on land! It is very clear from the verses of the Qur'an:

Qur'an 33:26 - "Allah made the Jews leave their homes by terrorizing them so that you killed some and made many captive. And He made you inherit their lands, their homes, and their wealth. He gave you a country you had not traversed before." - This land had not belonged to Muslims!

Qur'an 59:2 - "It was Allah who drove the People of the Book (Jews) from their homes and into exile. They refused to believe and imagined that their strongholds would protect them against Allah..."

Islam also has warned all infidels:

Bukhari: V5B59N516 - "When Allah's Apostle fought or raided people we raised our voices saying, 'Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.'"

Mohammad went on 23 RAIDS himself and ordered over 70 others to rid the world of evil. Hence, his modern followers are willing to fulfill their esteemed leader's commands. Now they have suicide bombers, rockets and are attempting to build a nuclear bomb. They feel that time is right to implement this prophecy:

Qur'an 8:59 - "The infidels should not think that they can escape. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them. They are your enemy and Allah's enemy."

Notice the words: that infidels are "Allah's enemy". Allah also said that Muslims were to kill all their enemies. This of course means endless war against all non-Muslims.

When people start saying that Jews should leave Israel, just ask them when they are going to leave America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or any other country where people have taken over. But Jews didn't! (We took some of our land back!)

I do not think we can convince people, who do not believe in the Torah or the Bible, that G-d promised the land to the Jews. They do not have the knowledge of God and his promises, but it is a different matter when we are dealing with the idiots and hypocrites who claim that they are acting in the name of G-d, acknowledge that Jews are indeed the "People of the Book" but simultaneously have been brazen and fierce try to destroy them. Self-protection is the only reason for little Israel to fight the billions of Muslims!

Where are the Screaming "Humanitarians"? Hamas used phosphorus, which is banned for use against civilians, in the mortars aimed at the 12,000 civilians of the Gaza-border region on Wednesday. (Many of the so-called Humanitarians are just ugly Jew-haters!)

The time has come to free Gaza completely from Muslim occupation and let the Jew-hating and terror-supporting population of Gaza leave Jewish land. The pretence of a people called Palestinians, an entity invented by Arabs in late 1960's to fight against the existence of the Jewish state, must be abandoned!

Barbaric Islamic Justice:

1) A Saudi Arabian court has ruled that a convicted man's spinal cord should be severed so he is paralysed. This is part of the kingdom's Islamic-law-oriented retribution for similar injuries he is said to have inflicted upon another man in a fight.

2) A Saudi court has convicted four women and 11 men for mingling at a party and sentenced them to flogging and prison terms.

Making a Good Living, Maintaining "Balance of Power"

1) The Obama administration is planning to sell up to $60 billion worth of advanced aircraft to Saudi Arabia, the largest-ever foreign arms sale. The package would include 84 new Boeing F-15 fighter jets and upgrades of another 70. It would also include three types of helicopters: 72 Black Hawk helicopters, 70 Apaches, and 36 Little Birds. State department spokesman Philip J Crowley stresses that Washington's priority is stability in the Middle East.

2) The US is slated to sell Israel massive military fuel stocks worth $2 bn.

3) Israel is expected to purchase 20 of F-35 warplanes for a total cost of $2.7 billion. The deal will be the most expensive in the IDF's history. (By raising the level of 'balance', the US arm dealers yield bigger profits! Saudi citizens were the perpetrators of 9/11 attacks - who is the evil kingdom planning to attack next?)

How Long Must We Wait? Iran has crossed the threshold for being able to arm ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads. This news sent the NATO Secretary running to Washington, but stirred no reaction from Israel - even though Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is preparing to visit Beirut to sign up Lebanese army for Tehran's forward front to defend its nuclear facilities and tie Israel's hands.

Schizo Talks. On Wednesday the United States said Israeli and Palestinian leaders moved toward resolving their differences over settlements but the Palestinians kept up the threat to walk out of the new peace talks. (Wishful thinking and political pretence will never work. There is a need for the will of all parties concerned to achieve peace - the 'Palestinians' have shown none!)

Destruction of Israel is the Aim. Gaza filmmakers Mohammed al-Amrity and Ayman Hijazi have released a film, "The Great Liberation", that portrays in detail the takeover of Israel by Arab Muslims and the destruction of vital Israeli and Jewish institutions. Arabs are depicted blowing up the Hurva synagogue in Jerusalem. Other scenes show Arabs destroying the Bank of Israel and blowing up the Supreme Court. (Incitement is forbidden by previous useless agreements between the PA and Israel. Nobody cares when agreements with Jews are violated!)

PA in Line with Tradition of Islamic Intolerance. Members of a pacifist Muslim sect say the PA is persecuting them, especially in the past year, including confiscation of property and physical violence. Head of the Ahmadis in Israel, Muhammad Sharif, told the Makor Rishon newspaper, "We believe in a tolerant, friendly and rational Islam." The Ahmadi sect was founded in 1889 in India and now numbers in the tens of millions of followers, mostly living outside the Arab world.

Hypocrisy in Action:

150 Irish artists pledge to boycott Israel - 9/11 attacks were perpetrated by 19 Islamic terrorists, 15 of them from Saudi Arabia. Why has nobody called for a boycott of Saudi Arabia, a well-known sponsor of international terror?

Legalised Occupation and Genocide are Celebrated. Mexico looked beyond its drug war to throw a 200th birthday bash celebrating its self-proclaimed proud history, whimsical culture and resilience embodied in the traditional independence cry: "Viva Mexico!" (Mexico was created on the land and blood of many native Indian tribes. Just imagine what the world 'opinion' would be now if Jews had accepted offers to create a Jewish state in Tasmania or Uganda? We can't even live in peace on our own land!)

Freedom of Speech and Expression Under Threat. A cartoonist, Molly Norris, has disappeared from public view because she is on an Islamic cleric's hit list for declaring "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" last spring. She is changing her name and essentially wiping out her identity on the advice of the FBI.

UN Resolution 194 and Fake Refugee Problem.

Arab leaders falsely point to UN Resolution 194 as proof that Arab refugees have a "Right to return".

Resolution 194, adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 11, 1948, addressed a host of issues, but only one paragraph out of 15 dealt with refugees created by the conflict. Resolution 194 attempted to create the tools required to reach a truce in the region. It established a conciliation commission with representatives from the United States, France and Turkey to replace the UN mediator. The commission was charged with achieving "a final settlement of all questions between... governments and authorities concerned." The Resolution's "refugee clause" was not a standalone item, as the Arabs would have us think, nor does it pertain specifically to Palestinian Arab refugees.

Of the 15 paragraphs, the first six sections addressed ways to achieve a truce. The next four paragraphs addressed the ways that Jerusalem and surrounding villages and towns should be demilitarised, and how an international zone or jurisdiction would be created in and around Jerusalem. The resolution also called on all parties to protect and allow free access to holy places, including religious buildings.

One paragraph has drawn the most attention: Paragraph 11, which alone addressed the issue of refugees and compensation for those whose property was lost or damaged. Contrary to Arab claims, it did not guarantee a Right of Return and certainly did not guarantee an unconditional Right of Return - that is the right of Palestinian Arab refugees to return to Israel. Nor did it specifically mention Arab refugees, thereby indicating that the resolution was aimed at all refugees, both Jewish an d Arab . Instead, Resolution 194 recommended that refugees be allowed to return to their homeland if they met two important conditions:

1. That they be willing to live in peace with their neighbours

2. That the return takes place "at the earliest practicable date"

The resolution also recommended that for those who did not wish to return, "Compensation should be paid for the property... and for loss of or damage to property" by the "governments or authorities responsible."

Although Arab leaders point to Resolution 194 as proof that Arab refugees have a right to return or be compensated, it is important to note that the Arab States: Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen voted against Resolution 194. Israel is not even mentioned in the resolution. The fact that plural wording also is used - "governments or authorities" - suggests that, contrary to Arab claims, the burden of compensation does not fall solely upon one side of the conflict. Because seven Arab armies invaded I srael, Israel was not responsible for creating the refugee problem. When hundreds of thousands Jews, under threat of death, attack and other forms of persecution were forced to flee Arab communities, the State of Israel absorbed the overwhelming majority of them into the then-fledgling nation.

When the Kurds rebelled against British rule in Iraq, he said: “I am strongly in favor of using poisoned gas against uncivilized tribes.” It “would spread a lively terror.” (Strangely, Toye doesn’t quote this.)

Winston Churchill is remembered for leading Britain through her finest hour — but what if he also led the country through her most shameful one? What if, in addition to rousing a nation to save the world from the Nazis, he fought for a raw white supremacy and a concentration camp network of his own? This question burns through Richard Toye’s superb, unsettling new history, “Churchill’s Empire” — and is even seeping into the Oval Office.

George W. Bush left a big growling bust of Churchill near his desk in the White House, in an attempt to associate himself with Churchill’s heroic stand against fascism. Barack Obama had it returned to Britain. It’s not hard to guess why: his Kenyan grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, was imprisoned without trial for two years and tortured on Churchill’s watch, for resisting Churchill’s empire.

Can these clashing Churchills be reconciled? Do we live, at the same time, in the world he helped to save and the world he helped to trash? Toye, one of Britain’s smartest young historians, has tried to pick through these questions dispassionately. Churchill was born in 1874 into a Britain that was coloring the map imperial pink, at the cost of washing distant nations blood-red. He was told a simple story: the superior white man was conquering the primitive dark-skinned natives, and bringing them the benefits of civilization.

As soon as he could, Churchill charged off to take his part in “a lot of jolly little wars against barbarous peoples.” In the Swat valley, now part of Pakistan, he experienced, fleetingly, an instant of doubt. He realized that the local population was fighting back because of “the presence of British troops in lands the local people considered their own,” just as Britain would if she were invaded. But Churchill soon suppressed this thought, deciding instead that they were merely deranged jihadists whose violence was explained by a “strong aboriginal propensity to kill.”

He gladly took part in raids that laid waste to whole valleys, writing: “We proceeded systematically, village by village, and we destroyed the houses, filled up the wells, blew down the towers, cut down the shady trees, burned the crops and broke the reservoirs in punitive devastation.” He then sped off to help reconquer the Sudan, where he bragged that he personally shot at least three “savages.”

The young Churchill charged through imperial atrocities, defending each in turn. When the first concentration camps were built in South Africa, he said they produced “the minimum of suffering” possible. At least 115,000 people were swept into them and 14,000 died, but he wrote only of his “irritation that kaffirs should be allowed to fire on white men.” Later, he boasted of his experiences. “That was before war degenerated,” he said. “It was great fun galloping about.”

Of course, it’s easy to dismiss any criticism of these actions as anachronistic. Didn’t everybody in Britain think that way then? One of the most striking findings of Toye’s research is that they really didn’t: even at the time, Churchill was seen as standing at the most brutal and brutish end of the British imperialist spectrum. This was clearest in his attitude to India. When Gandhi began his campaign of peaceful resistance, Churchill raged that he “ought to be lain bound hand and foot at the gates of Delhi and then trampled on by an enormous elephant with the new Viceroy seated on its back.” He later added: “I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion.”

This hatred killed. In 1943, to give just one example, a famine broke out in Bengal, caused, as the Nobel Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen has proven, by British mismanagement. To the horror of many of his colleagues, Churchill raged that it was their own fault for “breeding like rabbits” and refused to offer any aid for months while hundreds of thousands died.

Hussein Onyango Obama is unusual among Churchill’s victims only in one respect: his story has been rescued from the slipstream of history. Churchill believed the highlands, the most fertile land in Kenya, should be the sole preserve of the white settlers, and approved of the clearing out of the local “kaffirs.” When the Kikuyu rebelled under Churchill’s postwar premiership, some 150,000 of them were forced at gunpoint into detention camps, later called “Britain’s gulag” by the historian Caroline Elkins. Obama never truly recovered from the torture he endured.

This is a real Churchill, and a dark one — but it is not the only Churchill. He also saw the Nazi threat far ahead of the complacent British establishment, and his extraordinary leadership may have been the decisive factor in vanquishing Hitlerism from Europe. Toye is no Nicholson Baker, the appalling pseudohistorian whose recent work “Human Smoke” presented Churchill as no different from Hitler. Toye sees all this, clearly and emphatically.

So how can the two Churchills be reconciled? Was his moral opposition to Nazism a charade, masking the fact that he was merely trying to defend the British Empire from a rival? Toye quotes Richard B. Moore, an American civil rights leader, who said that it was “a most rare and fortunate coincidence” that at that moment “the vital interests of the British Empire” coincided “with those of the great overwhelming majority of mankind.” But this might be too soft in its praise. If Churchill had been interested only in saving the empire, he could probably have cut a deal with Hitler. No: he had a deeper repugnance to Nazism than that. He may have been a thug, but he knew a greater thug when he saw one — and we may owe our freedom today to this wrinkle in history.

This is the great, enduring paradox of Churchill’s life. In leading the charge against Nazism, he produced some of the richest prose poetry in defense of freedom and democracy ever written. No one needs to rejoice, gloat, stereotype or condemn the "other" without looking inward; the ugly ones are connected to each one of us, via belonging to the same nation, same religion, same race, continent or heck, the planet earth. Knowledge allows us to at least stop barking at others as we (each one of us) deserve to be barked at as well.

This blog was created to accumulate a list of all hate mongering dialogues and work on finding solutions, as most of it is rhetoric, neither the Jewish majority means to kill the Palestinians or Hamas means to drive Israel into the ocean (Check out the interviews with Charlie Rose). Both are stances taken to assert an extreme position. We do not have honest media, they are all paid staff to deliver what is told. Sadly they highlight the ugly statement of the other and fail in their responsibility of the vice-versa. Thank God, we have hope for mankind, there is BBC and PBS still delivering honest news.

I have included Kiran Kapoor’s quotes and it is the responsibility of each one of us to refute that which is un-truth. We have to work to create a better society. I invite any and all comments to share if the following comments are not true. Finding the truth is one's own responsibility.

We have to learn to accept that the statement is not made by you or me, but you and I have the responsibility to discourage and condemn all such statements without flinching, hesitating, corrupting or defending the men and women who have made such statements. Our topic is Hate speech, and how we are going to deal with it, at least among the members who are accessing this thread. I have lauded the Canadian Government for banning Dr. Naik from participating in the conference.

I have deleted three comments that cursed out Muslims and Jews, that won’t add to the solutions.

Dialogue is the best available option where we can place all our cards on the table influenced by emotion, religion, injustice, frustration, anger etc… and it appears that we are placing a lot of cards.

We have a choice to be frustrated and run and that’s what we have been doing and it has not worked. Or we can face and listen to both sides and re-assess our opinions based on a full understanding of the situation.

If the goal is sustainable solutions, we need to hear opinions that we do not agree with and have the objective of finding solutions. We need to restrict speeches that are derogatory and cause misunderstandings.

Let's give her the room to clarify and share her thoughts.Zionism in its simplest form is the desire of the Jews in diaspora to live in their home land, indeed, that is the desire of most people; to be at home where they feel secure.

Zionism. encapsulates the dream of the Jewish people to have a homeland; it is an idea of life for the people. The Word Zionism conjures up different images to different people, we have to accept that bad elements are in every group, whether Zionism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism or others, we cannot brand the whole group for the acts of few, this amounts to stereotyping and it is wholesale prejudice.

Robert, I will post these three items from the thread at the blog site. Agree Hate messages are destructive to the society, especially on the Media and the mouths of the politicians, let's hope to work this up to a movement to to treat hate speech as an act of yelling fire in a crowded place

In fairness to Kiran, I have as an American at times in private become so angry with my political leaders (i.e., Bush and his war of choice, the biased and onesided foreign policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, etc.) that I have said some pretty ugly things directed toward Bush and others who facilitated injustice around the world.

I think Bush/Cheney are war crminals, but fully recognized that in the realpoltic world they will never face international justice. I am no stranger to her frustration.But when we fail to differentiate people from the actions of their political leaders, we all to easy fall into the trap of assuming that everyone supports the current policies of their government. That is simply not true, and if truth matters, which it does, then we should not overlook this simple fact.

Bush was a "unilateralist" and his actions were anti-American, that is 72% of Americans did not approve his actions he still went ahead with it. What is the difference between him and Saddam? We applaud the Canadian move on banning hate speeches.

It is our duty to keep law and order and faithfully guard the safety of every citizen. Hate is one of the many sources of disrupting the peace in a society and it is our responsibility to track down the source of such hate and work on mitigating it. We have an obligation to maintain a balance in the society. When we are at peace, we can generate peace and we can expect peace around us. Our words and actions should mitigate conflicts and nurture reconciliation and goodwill.

We must stand up and support free speech, but when it messes with the peace of the society, it is “free” no more, it ‘un-frees” people and slaves them to hate. A hate speech can create chaos and fear in the society as much as a man yelling in the crowd “Fire”. The issue must be of law and order.

If in fact Dr. Naik has said this non-sense, “There are many Jews who are good to Muslims, but as a whole, the Koran tells us, as a whole, they will be our staunchest enemy.” We condemn his statement without reservation.

God clearly and repeatedly says in Quraan that whether your are a Jew, Christian or otherwise, you are guaranteed a place in heaven provided you are good to fellow beings and your environment. That is the only requirment to earn the creator's grace; to be good to fellow beings.

He has a right to free speech, but not malign Islam with non-sense like this statement. Where the heck did he get his Islam from? Does the man understand Islam means peace? Does he understand that God is not prejudiced? It is men like him and a few who worked for the previous administration who chop up God into bits and pieces, your God v. my God.

Who wants a God that hates his own creation, he is reducing God to be his God, a bad guy and not beneficent and merciful God that adorns every chapter in Quraan. He does not get Islam right.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims show respect to all religions as the Prophet did, indeed, Muslims are forbidden to ridicule any religion.

I know I will be rebuked by a few right winger Muslims, so be it, I will not let any idiot make my faith or any one's faith to be misrepresented, and the universal God to be reduced to a God who tells bad things about his own creation? That is not Islam he is preaching. It is time we the moderates speak up and not twiddle our thumbs and let a few men get away from their non-sense.

Canada’s decision to ban Zakir Naik from Toronto conference is good news indeed. And I sincerely hope this will set the precedent to nail all the hate monger’s wearing masks of Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and other religions. An Indian Muslim televangelist who was banned from Britain last week for “unacceptable behaviour” will not be allowed into Canada to speak at an upcoming conference in Toronto, sources familiar with the situation have told the National Post.

Dr. Zakir Naik, who has said “every Muslim should be a terrorist” and that Jews are “our staunchest enemy,” was to headline next month’s Journey of Faith Conference — which is billed as one of North America’s largest Islamic conferences and is expected to attract upward of 10,000 people.

Dr. Naik, the Mumbai-based founder of Peace TV and a widely respected lecturer in India, has a laundry list of views that could have led to his exclusion from the U.K. and Canada, both of which require an Indian citizen to obtain a visitor visa.

The 44-year-old medical doctor recommends capital punishment for homosexuals and the death penalty for those who abandon Islam as their faith.

He has said that a man is within his right to beat his wife “lightly,” though in a July 2009 YouTube video he cautioned against hitting her on the face or leaving a mark. The “Keep Zakir Naik Out of Canada” Facebook group, which was launched over the weekend, also points out his view that western women make themselves “more susceptible to rape” by wearing revealing clothing.

Among the chief reasons, British Home Secretary Theresa May decided to quash Dr. Naik’s U.K. speaking tour later this month, however, were comments he made in a widely circulated 2007 video.

“If [Osama bin Laden] is fighting the enemies of Islam, I am for him … If he is terrorizing a terrorist, if he is terrorizing America the terrorist, the biggest terrorist, I am with him,” said Dr. Naik, who has delivered hundreds of talks in India, Canada, the U.S. and the Middle East. “Every Muslim should be a terrorist.”

Tarek Fatah, founder of the Muslim Canadian Congress, said he and the congress have been informed that Dr. Naik will be “stopped at the airport,” and sources familiar with the situation confirmed Dr. Naik does not have a visa to enter Canada.

“We are very happy that government agencies, having been made aware of his statements, have taken this decision,” Mr. Fatah said, adding that he sent a mass email to federal MPs last week, warning them of Dr. Naik’s views. “We certainly don’t want hate-mongers to come here.”
“To me, the rules as to who can come into this country were written for this kind of person,” echoed Bernie Farber, CEO of the Canadian Jewish Congress. “The comments are highly inflammatory, and highly provocative. When you put them together in one cauldron, you have a stew of hatred.”

Dr. Naik, president of the Islamic Research Foundation in Mumbai, was reached via email on Monday but would not comment on his pending visit to Toronto. In fact, Dr. Naik may not yet know that he is unwelcome in Canada, sources said.

In his email to the National Post, Dr. Naik pointed to a June 20 statement regarding the “overzealous and islamophobic exclusion order” issued by the U.K. The statement seeks to clarify his comments, which the foundation argues were “taken out of context.”

The Journey of Faith Conference is chaired by Imam Saed Rageah, whose Toronto mosque, the Abu Huraira Centre, made headlines last fall after a group of young worshippers vanished and were feared to have joined a Somali militant group. Imam Ragaeh declined an interview request yesterday, but passed along a web video via email of Dr. Naik defending his comments and promising to challenge the U.K. ban.

According to the Journey of Faith event website, the “hope” of the July 2-4 conference at the downtown Metro Toronto Convention Centre is for Muslims to “renew their forgotten relationship” with the Quran. As of last night, the site still listed Dr. Naik as a featured speaker.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada declined to comment on the case yesterday, citing the Privacy Act.

I would expect an Islam basher, to at least have some cooked up logic or basis for the hate, Wafa Sultan is simply a bellyacher. She must have had a traumatic childhood, which I understand, and I do feel the anguish she has harbored and certainly would extend my sympathy and condemn those shameless rascals. Instead of blaming the wrong doers, Wafa Sultan has chosen to blame their religion.

My biggest surprise was that the "hate speeches were allowed to spew out from the synagogues". Why did the Jews allow such hateful speeches from a sanctuary of God? A few Mosques used the pulpit to do that, they have all been guarded by the assertive moderate majority, no more crap will be allowed from Mosques, at least the one’s I know. At this time no Mosque in United States is allowing hate mongers to speak from their grounds.A few years ago in Los Angeles, several Jews walked out of a synagogue when Wafa Sultan was running her mouth. I was proud of those Jews who walked out. We do not want hate to multiply and do more harm to the society.

I am also pleased that Dr. Pipes spoke up, although it suited him to let Wafa Sultan do the Islam bashing.

A documentary is in the order depicting how the Neocons have made hate mongering as their fund raising tactic. I have personally witnessed and written about such incidents. “Frighten the crap out of those dumbos with money and out they open their check books” to write to the crap motivators. The Neocon Jews do it, the Neocon Christians make a killing with Islamophobia and the Neocon Muslims also resort to this technique and just recently the Hindu Neocons have figured out how to fill their pockets, one French fellow has bulldozed them with the idea of a Hindu Holocaust Museum and the suckers have opened their check books.

Wafa Sultan does not give a crap about any one, let alone Jews, she has found that she can make big money by frightening those suckers and asking for the donations.

What can we, the ordinary people from all faith do about it? We should attend these events and remind the people to think twice, is their money aggravating the situation or making it better for them? Are they funding hate or peace?

The words stung me like a jolt of electricity: "Muhammad was a child rapist." As if the slur were not sufficient, the speaker then insinuated my Islamic faith was filth. "I am 'clean' of Islam," she sneered to her Toronto audience. As far as hate speech goes, the shoe was suddenly on the other foot.For years, radical Islamists have cited freedom of speech to defend their attacks on Christians, Jews, Hindus and liberal non-observant Muslims.

A hateful tone is never far from the surface -- although great care is taken to couch this cancer in ambiguity and double-speak. Take for instance the Toronto imam caught on videotape praying to Allah for the "defeat of the kufaar," a thinly disguised reference to Christians and Jews.As a Muslim, I learned very early in life to walk in my adversaries' shoes to feel their pain. This is why I have not shied away from calling a spade a spade and outing the segregationist hate mongers within my community, an effort that has paid dividends in the slow decline of overt anti-Semitism and Hindu-hatred in the public religious discourse of Western Muslims.But last week, it was not a Muslim cleric whose speech traumatized me; it was the words of an ex-Muslim.

Even a hardened secular Muslim such as myself was deeply hurt by what I heard that evening. I also was disappointed that the speech was at a synagogue, and the audience almost all Jews.

Dr. Wafa Sultan

The speaker who caused me this anguish was Wafa Sultan, the Syrian-born American who shot to fame after her appearance on Al Jazeera Television in 2006, where she tore into the arguments of cleric Ibrahim al-Khouli about the ills of Muslim society. The 30-second clip went viral and won great acclaim even among Muslims who respected her for her candid and honest critique of what ails us as a people.However, instead of using her newfound fame to challenge the established theocracies and corrupt kingdoms of the Middle east, Sultan veered off the deep end and could not resist the temptation of becoming the poster child of Islam haters, joining their ranks with the fervour of a convert.

Inside a Toronto synagogue last week, where she was debating with Prof. Daniel Pipes whether moderate Islam was a Western ally or a Western myth, Dr.Sultan wasted no time in lashing out at her former faith. Catering to the fears of her predominantly Jewish audience, she said, "Muhammad was a Jew killer." To further inflame the crowd, Wafa Sultan delivered an astonishing account of how the Prophet had slaughtered Jews and then raped the wife of the defeated Jewish tribal chief.

The vitriol was so severe, it was left to the two Jewish speakers at the debate, the moderator Avi Benlolo and Prof. Pipes to praise Muslims and mention the fact that moderate Muslims were rising up against extremism. Benlolo specifically mentioned the recent 600-page fatwa by the Pakistani cleric Tahir ul Qadri denouncing suicide bombing and terrorism.

However, Wafa Sultan would not have any of that. She chided both Benlolo and Pipes for their naivete. "There is no moderate Islam," she wagged her finger at Pipes. There was only one Islam, she claimed-- the Islam of rape, murder and hate.

To his credit -- and this will surprise many of his Muslim naysayers --Daniel Pipes reminded his Jewish audience that Islam was not the bogeyman it has been made out to be. "Remember, for over 1,000 years, whenever Jews needed a place for sanctuary, they got it in Muslim lands ...

The problem is not Islam, it is Islamism," he told them.I left the synagogue deeply disturbed. In the fight against Islamofascism, Wafa Sultan's hatred of Islam was cultivating the very forces she claims to be exposing. When a questioner asked her "What is the solution?" she just shrugged her shoulders. Perhaps the answer she had in mind was too outrageous even by her own standards: Force Muslims to convert or die. Five hundred years ago, Isabel and Ferdinand "cleansed" Spain of Islam and Muslims, but we are still here. Surely, we can think of more productive solutions -- and devote our attention to more productive minds -- than this.---------

The release below gives details on a fast-approaching program at Southern Methodist University:

On Tuesday evening (Feb. 23) at 7 p.m. at SMU's Hughes-Trigg Theater in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center (http://smu.edu/maps/flash/) , the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance (www.dallasholocaustmuseum.org) is hosting a special program exploring the role of the newly-established Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission.

The program is free and open to the public, and complimentary valet parking is provided.

The Commission was established during the last session of the Legislature and signed into law last summer. State Sen. Florence Shapiro (R-Plano) and State Sen. Rodney Ellis (D-Houston) co-sponsored the bill creating the commission, which was passed unanimously.

Texas is the nation's 13th state to establish a commission or council devoted to Holocaust and genocide education. By law, the commission--considered the most important development in Holocaust education in Texas in years--is to help preserve information and experiences of the Holocaust and other genocide events. The commission will also work with organizations, agencies, museums, survivors and liberators to provide information and experiences and to coordinate memorial events in the state.

The SMU program will explore the commission's purpose in a Q&A format moderated by Texas Tribune Editor Evan Smith, formerly president and editor-in-chief of Texas Monthly. The panelists include Senator Shapiro; Peter Berkowitz, a Houston business executive who chairs the commission; Amy Fisher-Smith, an associate professor of psychology at University of Dallas, and a Holocaust educator; and Elliott Dlin, Museum Director of the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance.

Texas is home to several hundred Holocaust survivors, and a few are expected to attend the event, co-sponsored by the Memnosyne Foundation (http://memnosynefoundation.org/) and the SMU Human Rights Program (http://smu.edu/humanrights/)

I am glad to see our state passed the bill to recognize Holocaust and Genocides. I hope Dallasites will take the time to attend the program and learn and reflect upon the terrible things that we humans have inflicted upon each other.

The Jewish community has borne the suffering of the Holocaust for over sixty years; it is time for us to share it. No community should bear the suffering alone; we all have to stand up, and be there for each other.

Thank God the awareness is increasing; from one event in 2006 by the American Muslims, it has grown to three events this year; the III Annual Reflections on Holocaust and Genocides on 24th, the Gay and Lesbian commeration on 27th and now this event by the Holocaust Museusm in collobration with the Memnosyne Foundation.
Holocaust was a major human tragedy and a failure of humanity.

And perhaps the first time in our history that we acknowledged the genocides of the indigenous Americans and Native peoples of Americas in a public forum along with other tragedies.

I want to applaud the people of Dallas for attending the event. They were Atheists, Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Wicca, Zoroastrians and from sevral ethnicities and nationalities.

It was an educational program, where 7 speakers reflected on 7 topics for 7 minutes each. Then 7 commentators made comments about 7 different situations. The topics ranged from the Holocaust to Genocides, massacres and tragedies.

Among Genocides, Massacres and other tragedies we reflected upon the Indigenous American people such as the Mayans, the Toltecs and the massacres of the Native people right here in Dallas, we touched upon Darfur, Polpot, Congo, Armenia, Rwanda, Falun Dafa, Burma, Tibet, Bosnia, India, Gaza and the transatlantic slave trade. Through these representative events, our goal was to reflect upon every human tragedy. The words do not describe the sufferings of people in full, we have to work with the limited choice of words, but have a big heart to feel the pain and suffering of every human being, not just my people or my tribe, but every one. Let there be one negative energy of suffering that we are part of, together we can work on getting out of it.

There is a shameless cruelty in us, either we shy away or some times refuse to acknowledge the sufferings of others, worrying that it will devalue our own or some how it amounts to infidelity to our own cause, and shame on us for justifying massacres that the victims deserved it or they asked for it.

We learned a few simple things that we can do to prevent such tragedies. It was a purposeful event to learn, acknowledge and reflect upon the terrible things that we humans have inflicted upon each other. We also learned that our safety hinges on the safety of all others around us.

We learned to see each other with dignity, and honor the otherness of other. Gatherings such as this offer hope and opportunity for a secure and a safer world.

Of the several acknowledgements, a few notable ones are;

1. other peoples suffering is as legitimate as ours;
2. some one related to us through faith, ethnicity, land mass or race has been a butcher too,
3. it takes courage to see ourselves as perpetrators, while it is easy to ourselves as victims;
4. we can see the light at the end of the tunnel when politics is stripped;
5. we can value others suffering without lessening our own;
6. the overriding desire to highlight my own gets softened, when we value others pain;
7. the sense of responsibility for creating a better world was present in us.

It is an initiative of American Muslims striving to build responsible civic societies. The event was organized by the Foundation for Pluralism, where co-existence is our value. We appreciate the sponsorship by the Center for Spiritual Living, all the three are Dallas based Organizations.

And to every community that has endured holocaust, genocides, massacres, bombs, annihilation, land mines, hunger, rape, torture, occupation and inhuman brutality, the least we can do in the process of healing is to acknowledge every one's pain in one room, as one people. We have to teach tolerance and acceptance.

We have begun the process of coming together as one people, to stand with you, we are indeed one world and one humanity, and caring for each other brings safety and peace to all of us. I cannot be safe if the people around me are not, and I will not have peace if people around me don't. It is in my interest to seek a peaceful world for one and all.

Indeed, more education and information about these tragedies is of utmost importance. Without such, the possibility that these horrific events can occur again is real. I hope that along with the history, a great deal of attention is placed on what allowed these events to occur, mainly, that people watched and did nothing. When we see people being persecuted, when we see people denied basic human rights, we must raise our voices and say "no!" The mantra associated with The Holocaust is "Never Again", yet to be true to the to the call, requires first that we even know about what happened, and second, that each of us take responsibility for our role.
I applaud these educational and participatory events, I encourage all to attend, and to speak out and speak up, for these atrocities still occur in our world today.

Yes, we will attend. Sikhs are those who suffered because of religious and ethnic hatred. They like to join all to make it sure that the hatred is transformed into understanding of the human suffering all over the world. The idea of sharing the suffering of the world is a powerful one to move the world where such atrocities are never inflicted on any human being, and if and when it ever happens again, it may be shared by all.

It is our duty, a moral obligation to acknolwedge the pain and suffering of all people. There is a shameless cruelty in us, either we shy away or some times refuse to acknowledge the sufferings of others, worrying that it will devalue our own or some how it amounts to infidelity to our own cause.

The real Pat Robertson

Pat Robertson's most recent comment on the devastating earthquake in Haiti reminds us that he remains American evangelicalism's most flamboyant spokesperson. He also is contemporary evangelicalism's most complex figure--something that is usually overlooked by pundits and commentators.

I first met Robertson in 2003 while researching "Faith in the Halls of Power: How Evangelicals Joined the American Elite." We met over lunch on the campus of CBN and Regent University in a boardroom that featured a portrait of George Washington, wood paneling from floor to ceiling, and enough decorative crown molding to make a Daughter of the American Revolution swoon. A graduate of Yale Law School and the son of a U.S. Senator, Robertson impressed me with his knowledge of topics ranging from international affairs to technology. And under his leadership, the Christian Broadcasting Network (which he founded in 1960) has thrived and continues to expand its reach. Indeed, CBN--along with HBO and Turner Broadcasting--was one of the earliest to adopt satellite technology in distributing television programming around the country in the 1970s.

Very few know such details about Robertson or CBN because he is better known for making or endorsing outrageous statements in the wake of human tragedies like the 9/11 attacks or the Haitian earthquake, attributing them to God's punishment for sinful behavior or, more recently, Haitians' bargaining with the devil in resisting French colonialism. On air, he has suggested that American operatives should assassinate Hugh Chavez of Venezuela and that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was the result of divine punishment for ordering Israel's withdrawal from Gaza back in 2005.

Robertson is a shrewd businessman, and although his 1988 bid for the White House failed early on, he enlisted millions of Americans in what would become a surge of conservative Christian influence in American political life. Why would someone as educated and experienced as Robertson make such outlandish statements? Even if he believes them, isn't he concerned about the backlash of criticism and ill will they generate for CBN and his other ventures?

When tragedies strike, people naturally ask questions about why bad things happen to the innocent. Millions of Americans see the hand of God or the devil at work in natural calamities and world events. In some ways, Robertson simply gives voice to a tendency all believers experience when grappling with the big question of why evil exists in a world made by a loving, powerful God.

I spent hours interviewing Pat Robertson and have dedicated years to studying his work and the wider evangelical world of which he is a part. Only he knows the extent to which he really believes some of his more dramatic pronouncements. But I am confident that he is savvy enough to realize such comments generate attention in the wider world, and they reflect as much his rhetorical flourish and skill in boosting ratings as they do his theology.

High Court Decision on Hate; a new international precedent

I applaud the decision by the Bombay High Court, they have set a new international precedent favoring the freedom of speech and adding the "Hate clause" to the ruling. This is something the Europeans can look up to. Freedom of speech must prevail.

It is our duty to keep law and order and faithfully guard the safety of every citizen. Hate is one of the many sources of disrupting peace in a society and it is our responsibility to track down the source of such hate and work on mitigating it. We have an obligation to maintain a balance in the society.

ABSTRACT: The central theme of this piece is about Freedom of Speech; a hallmark of civil societies. No matter how hateful or ugly people get, we should not curb it, as ultimately freedom stands to gain more for the society, things will wash out. We also have to recognize the inhumanity among us when it comes to the pain of others, that will put us on a higher plateau of finding solutions.

In case of Gaza, the people of Israel, Palestine and Jews around the world are divided, please remember on national issues like this, only fanatics have clear positions, the majority debates the concerns to find lasting and just solutions. The media does not present you with the extraordinary Jewish efforts to do the right thing or the struggles of the Palestinians to be fair given the conditions they are pushed into.

In case of Kashmir, the Indians, Pakistanis and Kashmiris, the Indian Goverment, Indian Media, Scholars and humanists are all divided. The position taking has protracted the conflict, it is time we think in term of long terms solutions that are sustainable; fairness and justness guaranty peace.

If denying the rights of others, or bulldozing the rights of others was the case, the problems would have gone away. It is easy to be jingoist, it gets short term support, but in long haul fairness prevails.

FREEDOM SHOULD BE FREE

I was reading one of the posts on the Face book about Kashmir conflict, as usual a majority of the comments sought solutions, a few, spewed hatred. I have pondered over the discussions on conflicts like Gaza and the tragedy of her people. In both the cases, it is appalling to read the degree of degeneration of humanity between the few Pakistanis, Indians, Kashmiris on one hand, and Palestinians, Israelis and the Jews on the other hand. The good news is that only a fraction of the each group of people is ugly for the time being, until they are given a chance to turn around; the majority of them are good people, to which I might add, good for nothing.

As a part of the solution, a few wanted limitations on freedom of speech. I'd like you to consider your own argument against such an idea, and instead go to the root of it and bring about a change through education and free will. Let Freedom be free.

Freedom is gutsy, you wouldn't be afraid to debate and discuss an issue. Ultimately what sustains is participatory decissions. If you clamp down on others, it is because you are afraid and that is a legitimate fear, as one day the tables will turn. Each one of us has to reap what we sow. Taking advantage of the other never works, you live in virtual fears if you do. It happens even among family members and spouse. There is an automated spiritual balance in each one of us. Vanja my friend shared a video on Freedom, it is worth watching, the link is at the bottom. That is the kind of relationship we ought to conder nurturing with the members of our family and friends; to be ourselves and to be free. Real bonding comes from freedom.

Hate is bonding, with it; one is reduced to slavery and becomes worthless to himself and the society. Whenever you think of the person you hate, it makes your blood boil, it makes you run or even violent, it makes you shiver and really makes you worthless for the next few moments until you regain control of yourselves and obtain your freedom back again.

If you justify any killing be it in Kashmir, Gaza or Darfur, you have to ask yourselves, if one killing is justified over the other, because they killed, you have a right to destroy them to teach a lesson, then if they get the power to hurt you, are you saying revenge is fine? Would you like to continue the cycle? Are you willing to take the responsibility of being a murderer?

Your question that "they are the ones who are causing the problem" is short-sighted. Did you think you are the reason it is deteriorating? Are your actions and words mitigating it? If you have the gun would you want to silence them, aren't they doing the same? Are you any better than those murderers?

We have to question our inhumanity, can we justify killing in any shape and form. Killing one human is like killing the whole humanity says the Torah and Quran, the whole world is one family adds the Bhagvad Gita and Jesus says Love thy enemy. Why the heck are we abandoning our own teachings? These teachings should not be resisted because they are religious, instead think of the goodness religion brings to every one us.

One's language determines if one is a peace maker or yet to become one. If one is loaded with sewer in the tummy, bad smells comes out of his mouth or the pen. So we need to monitor ourselves; do my words and actions mitigate the conflict or aggravate it? What is the outcome I want, and how are my words and actions geared to achieve that. Let’s be the change we want to be as Mahatma Gandhi puts it.

Mary Ann Thompson-Frenk of Memnosyne Foundation adds, we have to be conscious cultural co- creators of the change we desire. Eboo Patel shares that while other people are spending their time derailing peace and societal balance, we have to focus on matching or exceeding goodness. Prophet Muhammad had said, the only way to combat evil is overwhelming goodness. He even prayed for people who were hurting him, because he believed in invoking the goodness in others. Jesus said, love thy enemy, to which I add, our role in the world as peace makers or religious persons ought is to mitigate conflicts and nurture good will for peace and security of each one of us.

Religion has never been the problem or source of conflict, although some of us find it convenient to ascribe the problems to it, that ain't going to absolve us of the responsibility. It is the individual who drives people into wars, hate and destruction. The verbal wars of Bush and Ahmedinejad escalated the issue and have flared up the conflicts. If the idiots had resorted to fact finding, instead of showing off who is the greater bully; had they employed responsbility in figuring how to mitigate conflicts, the world would have been different today. If these guys can believ in one iota of their religion, they will be fine men. It is still not too late to stop the fiction that is added to it every day. If every one understands his own religion, problems fade and solutions would emerge.

If one is a peaceful and a loving person, only good things will come out of him/her. One needs to guard him or herself and find cures for storing hatred inside and finding a dump for hate. You cannot have peace outside, if your inside is not. Peace begins with you and I (Len Ellis, Dallas Peace Center).

The debate about freedom of speech perhaps exists from the day the society evolved with at least two people interacting. Ultimately freedom is the right thing, the Tsunamis will wash off, but the freedom prevails. Curbing freedom would have kept the world under wraps; women would not have had the freedom, the slavery would have continued, men would have continued to abuse the women and children, industries would have prospered on the sweat and blood of people, and you would have been a victim of it in one form or the other.

Freedom of speech should not be curbed; there have been times that the short term temptation to bring short term peace sounds right.

Freedom should be gauged in terms of individual freedom but tied to law and order at large. Hate speech intentionally disturbs law and order, incites people and as such it should be treated like a murder, a bomb, or a riot. However, one should not be made responsible for his intention, but the consequence of his actions.

Freedom is good, let it prevail.
The gains of curbing are short-term;
The temptations to clamp down may not be evil,
but let the free market find its own balance

It's well understood that right-wingers oppose the Obama Presidency and want to see him voted out next year. Some go so far as to publicly express their hope that the President will fail, letting their hatred of him supersede their (supposed) love of country. Now, though, an Arizona pastor has gone a step further; Steven Anderson wants the President to die of brain cancer, just like Ted Kennedy did. And he wants it to happen today.

On August 16th, Anderson preached:

"Why should Barack Obama melt like a snail? Why should Barack Obama die like the untimely birth of a woman? Why should his children be fatherless and his wife a widow, as we read in this passage?

Well, I will tell you why. Because, since Barack Obama thinks it is OK to use a salty solution, right, to abort the unborn, because that's how abortions are done, my friend, using salt -- and I would like to see Barack Obama melt like a snail tonight... And yet you're going to tell me that I'm supposed to pray for the socialist devil, murderer, infanticide, who wants to see young children and he wants to see babies killed through abortion and partial-birth abortion and all these different things -- you're gonna tell me I'm supposed to pray for God to give him a good lunch tomorrow while he's in Phoenix, Arizona.

Nope. I'm not gonna pray for his good. I'm going to pray that he dies and goes to hell."

Later, rather than apologize for making abhorrent statements about the leader that the citizens of the United States elected, Anderson went even further: "I'd like to see him die, like Ted Kennedy, of brain cancer."

To the pastor's credit, at least he's not demanding Obama's head over the issue of health care reform.

And so yet another honorable "pro-life" person strides onto the national stage, sending letters to God begging for the Almighty to leave Michelle Obama a widow and Sasha and Malia fatherless because Obama dared to respect the law of the United States. This honorable "pro-life" person bragged about his parishioners carrying guns to church, and was nothing but proud when one of his own, a man named Christopher Broughton, attended a Phoenix event featuring President Obama while carrying a loaded rifle. The event was one day after Anderson's "death to Obama" sermon.

There's nothing factually wrong with this vile fundamentalist rhetoric. Anderson's prayers for the death of our democratically elected President stem from a Biblical command to kill all "murderers," which many sects of Christianity interpret as including people who have, provide or enable abortions. All this sick man is doing is following the word of the Bible as clearly stated. It's logical, if one accepts the laws of the Bible as true and does not cherry-pick, that Barack Obama, along with all abortion providers, women who have had abortions, administrators of hospitals that employ doctors who provide abortions, and so on should get a bullet between the eyes.

More moderate Christians are certainly quick to disown this man, as they did Scott Roeder, Michael Griffin, Paul Jennings Hill, John Salvi, Eric Rudolph, and James Kopp - and those are just the murderers. The list goes on; abortion providers have been shot, sent death threats and bomb threats and anthrax threats, assaulted, bombed, vandalized... They're just fundamentalists, just extremists, the moderate wing will say. How many people have to commit these appalling acts of violence before they become mainstream?

In the end, though, Anderson's just being a good Christian. He is following the literal word of the Bible because he believes that is the inerrant word of God. In addition to praying for the death of America's President, he's also given a sermon on the merits of killing homosexuals (who, he asserts, "recruit through rape"). It makes sense that his followers, being convinced that Barack Obama is, if not the Antichrist, an extremely evil man, and being in possession of firearms, should move to do justice upon him. Perhaps one of them will become convinced that he is God's tool for removing Barack Obama from office and from this world; in a community of religious fundamentalists, it's just as likely as a fundamentalist Muslim believing his holy duty is to become a suicide bomber.

Speaking of Muslims, how do you think the Christian right would feel if it were a Muslim man praying for the death of America's head of state?

If it were a Muslim, it would have been a fodder for the likes of Beck, Limbaugh and the radicals among the Republican leadership and the hate mongers like Spencer, Emerson and their likes. They would have feasted for months.

Think about the congregation of Anderson, how could they tolerate a hate sermon? Would Jesus have approved this? No wonder Nation is moving towards Atheism, where at least they don't preach hate towards any one. Anderson, Hagee, Robertson, Falwell are the biggest anti-christ guys in our nation who teach exacatly opposite of the teachings of Jesus - Love and embrace God's creation.

A list of Neocons is being developed for watching what they write, speak and act upon. One of these days, I hope they can start talking about peace and co-existence with the same passion as the do with Chaos and hate.

The world is a beautiful place and an overwhelming majority of people want to get along with every one and focus on taking care of their family, Job and work towards living their dream.
However, about 1/10th of 1% of members in each group; be it religious, national, cultural, ethnic and racial group tend to be radical extremists.

They can be characterized by:

Hear them out, how they manufacture enemies and their ridiculous suggestion to aggravate the conflicts. It is easy for them to talk about “eliminating the other” without realizing that the idea of eliminating other does not bring security, and instead makes every one insecure. They have no taste for a different point of view, you can see an occasional shock on their faces when they learn that there is another side to the issue.

HATE PULPITS

When religion is driven from humility to arrogance, i.e., when some one makes the claim that my faith is superior to others, or my way is the right away, then it is not religion any more.

All religions are beautiful, it is the self appointed guardians who are on the wrong side, when they start denigrating other faiths to promote their own, then it is a hate sermon and not a religious one any more.

These guys are in every faith and continue to dupe a number of men and women to believe that they are in the hands of God himself or herself or itself. Any pulpit that inculcates hate, ill-will, and anger against others is not a religious pulpit; religion is about love and peace and not ill-will.

What can you do?

If your place of worship even remotely denigrates other forms of worship, tell them that you are in the place to be peaceful, kind and generous and not the other way around. It is perfectly alright to show how good their particular path helps one to achieve freedom and peace. Tell them that you do not want God to be misrepresented, let them know that God cares about his creation and has no interest in creating hate between his own creation. Unless you speak up, the evil men continue to reign.

To be religious is to be a peace maker, one who constantly seeks to mitigate conflicts and nurtures goodwill for peaceful co-existence of humanity. My resopnse to Nonie Darwish's article, "Joys of Muslim Women" follows my comments.

Islam bashing is an industry well funded by those who seek chaos. Individuals like Nonie Darwish, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan and others fall for the money offers.

Do the people who fund hate talk, hate write and hate actions ever understand that solutions to a peaceful world does not come through hate, but from goodwill?

If some one were to mess up my life, I should blame the men and women and not their nation, race, ethnicity or religon. If I were to murder someone, its me who needs to be incarcerated, it has nothing to do with my City (Carrollton), my parents, friends or my kids.

Years ago, when I published a newspaper here in Dallas, a group approached me and offered me real big money to continue to run the paper and wanted me to run it by their agenda and I was amazed they had the audacity to do that, I gues they thought money can buy anything. Thank God I closed the Paper down rather than cherish the "hate money". Even though a woman is abused she can not obtain a divorce.

Mike: Baloney – Islam was one of the first religions that gave permission to women to seek marriages or divorces.

Mike: The first part is true and 2nd Part is false. The Bush aggression in Iraq has put over quarter million women on the streets. The sole support for these women – husband, brother, father or a relative is killed in the mayhem. They are not divine by any stretch of the imaginations, although in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Pakistan and Afghnistan they have made attempts to call it divine. She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.

What is Sharia

Sharia in its simplest form is a "HOW-TO MANUAL" based on Quraan and the Hadith (Prophet Muhammad's sayings). It it is a human effort to understand the concept of Justice enshrined in Qur'aan for living a day to day life.

The private domain of the manual is about the relationship between an individual and the creator, whereas the public domain of the Sharia law is about the relationship between the individual and the society.

The contentious issues stem from treatment of; divorce, women's rights, inheritance, theft, adultery and apostasy. Our focus is in understanding and bringing forth various opinions and thoughts to get a grasp of the system.

The core value of Islam is Justice. The violations of justice and the rule of law are found in every faith, culture and political traditions at varying degrees. No community can cast the first stone.

You may discover to your chagrin, that many of the Neocon Doctors on Islam have built their castles on wrong foundation. In fact Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham Junior's information on Islam comes from these falsities.

When the European Kings were attacked by the invading Arab Armies, one of the ways they could get their subjects to defend their Kingdoms was through a campaign of hate.

Kudos to the management of Arlington Libraray for putting a stop on hate mongering, enough of that has ruined our economy and our morality. The poor suckers who open their check books and get robbed by the O'Briens would really appreciate it.

The Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Jewish Neocons** are an insecure bunch people on the earth, they are frightened at every sneeze one releases. They cook up imaginary enemies, and their solution to the problems is bombing and annihilating the ones who disagree with them, that is what the previous men in the white house did; if you don't like some one, eliminate them. None of them are capable of a dialogue.

I would challenge Ms. Dorrie O’Brien to a dialogue with any intelligent person with a condition to present facts. Is she capable of sitting up in public with Jamal Qaddura or me and answer the questions? I hope so. The Neocons have their own audience who is too eager to be frightened and open the check books for their presumed saviors. How long will they be duping that group of Americans, a tiny but money loaded minority that is shrinking by the day. Even Rush cannot dupe them any more.

I am a Republican and not ashamed of my party’s ideals, but certainly embarrassed by its leadership - Is there one among McCain, Bush, Cheney, Palin, Romney, Giuliani, Gingrich and the bunch who is capable of talking peace and co-existence? For the sake of our democracy, and to ensure checks and balances, the Republicans need a majority at least in the Senate to knock off the possible arrogance of one party government. Bush had a majority and he ran one of the most irresponsible governments ever -with reckless spending in Iraq and Afghanistan that has cause untold misery to the average American.

May God instill some critical thinking in Neocon Republican minds. They are a mirror image of the Neocon Muslims like Bin Laden. Both believe in destroying each other and as long as they have those attitudes, they are messing up the lives of Americans. It is time we speak out against these rascals.

As Americans, thank God we were first saved on November 2006 and again God pulled us out of the Republican arrogance in November 2008, and now it is time to clean the Republican Party from these hate mongers.

I urge the wealthy Americans not to shell a penny to any one who is bent on spewing hate towards any American; they are making a fool out of you to get you to write them a check.

The idea of security is simple – if you as an individual or a nation threaten others, you are guaranteed to be reciprocated. You build sustainable security for America by seeking peace and not threatening others. Arlington library bans group, says meeting content not at issue

A local chapter of a group focused on fighting "the assault of radical Islam" has been permanently barred from holding any more meetings at the Arlington Public Library.

The Grand Prairie chapter of ACT! for America had its meeting privileges revoked this month because the group broke two guidelines of the library’s meeting room usage policy, Arlington Library Director Cary Siegfried said.

The group, led by Dorrie O’Brien of Grand Prairie, had been meeting at the library since last year, Siegfried said. The Arlington Public Library offers its meeting room for free.

In an e-mail to Siegfried, O’Brien said the library was playing "into the hands of America’s enemies" and was just citing the rule violations as an excuse.

"I imagine there’s been a lot of pressure put on you to kick me out of the library by the people who want to stop me and others like me from getting the actual word out about Islam," O’Brien wrote.

Siegfried insisted that the content of the meetings had nothing to do with her decision.

"They didn’t follow the rules; that’s all there is to it," Siegfried said.

Siegfried said she warned ACT! for America this year after the library received a complaint that the group’s meetings were not fully open to the public and that group leaders were soliciting funds at the meeting, both violations of the library’s policy.

Abir Chatila, principal at Al-Hedayah Academy in Fort Worth, said she filed the complaint after O’Brien asked her where she was born and how she had heard about the meeting before ultimately allowing her to attend. Chatila said she wanted to attend the meeting because she was concerned that anti-Muslim rhetoric was being spread at the library.

"I was very upset by the fact that I had to justify who I was and where I was born to get into this meeting," Chatila said.

Siegfried sent a library staffer to attend the group’s June meeting to ensure that the group was adhering to the rules, she said.

The staffer saw a group leader soliciting funds and another attendee selling books and tapes. That prompted a permanent suspension of the group’s meeting privileges, she said.

For months, O’Brien’s rhetoric has angered local members of the Muslim community, with many saying she was promoting hate speech. In May, O’Brien and Tarrant County Medical Examiner Nizam Peerwani, a Muslim, gave opposing presentations to the North Tarrant Republican Club about the intentions of Muslims in America.

William Sandlin Jr. of Arlington, a member of ACT! for America, said the group met this month at a private facility and about 70 people attended. He said group members are angry about how Arlington handled the incident.

"I was very disappointed that they took that tack, since I paid taxes in Arlington since 1969 and they allowed the believers in Islam to negate this lady’s right to meet there," Sandlin said.

In an e-mailed response to the Star-Telegram, O’Brien said she has put the incident with the library behind her.

"I was originally disappointed that the library superintendent determined she would cancel both of ACT!’s future appearances at the library, but that’s ancient history to me now," O’Brien wrote. "ACT! moved on and is stronger and better for it."

Several local Muslims said they were pleased to see the group barred from using a public facility.
"This hate speech should not be allowed in a public library," said Jamal Qaddura, president of the DFW Islamic Education Center in Arlington.

Sharia in its simplest form is a "HOW-TO MANUAL" based on Qur’aan and the Hadith (Prophet Muhammad's sayings). It is a human effort to understand the concept of Justice enshrined in Qur'aan for living a day to day life.

The private domain of the manual is about the relationship between an individual and the creator, whereas the public domain of the Sharia law is about the relationship between the individual and the society.

Peace is not the responsibility of any one particular group, it is the responsibility of every human being. Peace makers are those who mitigate conflicts and nurture goodwill.

In a post-Sept. 11 America, inciting Islamophobia and attempting to marginalize Muslims is a lucrative business. Extremists like Steven Emerson seek to polarize our nation and world to continue profiting from the industry of fear.

Emerson uses methods of distortion, exaggeration and outright falsehood to demonize Muslims and urge fellow Americans to fear Islam.

He borrows terminology and tactics once employed by Nazi Germany to justify anti- Semitic hate to help create similar hatred of American Muslims in America.

In his talk, titled “The Islamic Threat,” Emerson is quoted by The Desert Sun as saying that “Islam's ‘leadership and organizational superstructure' threaten Western values” and that (radical) Muslims “want to conquer the United States. They want to conquer Europe.”

Try replacing the word “Islam” or “Muslims” with the word “Jews,” “Latinos,” “Catholics” or “blacks” in his quotes and note how repulsive and hateful those comments sound. So, why have we become de-sensitized to anti- Muslim bigotry?

Why are agenda-driven propagandists such as Emerson allowed to disregard the more than 1 billion peaceful Muslims who are hard-working, family-oriented people seeking a better life for their children? Why are the positive contributions of 6 million to 7 million American Muslims substituted with guilt by association and fear-mongering that places the local Muslim community at risk of discrimination and hate crimes?

True Islamophobe

A leading national media watch group, Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting, listed Emerson as one of the top 12 Islamophobes in America. These Islamophobes, together, “form a network that teaches Americans to see Islam in fearful terms and their Muslim neighbors as suspects,” (www.smearcasting.com).

It is no wonder Emerson attempts to marginalize American Muslims and their leading organizations and label them as terrorist-sympathizers. It is puzzling that Emerson gets to promote his bigotry, unchallenged, at the invitation of an esteemed institution such as the World Affairs Council or in the pages of The Desert Sun.

CAIR is one of the most respected Muslim advocacy organizations in America. We work closely with our nation's interfaith leaders, elected officials, media professionals and law enforcement agencies to provide them with the Muslim community's perspective on issues varying from national security to civil rights and to promote tolerance and mutual understanding.

CAIR and the Muslim community repeatedly and unequivocally condemn all forms of terrorism because Islam teaches us to value life - every life.

Emerson is entitled to free speech, including hate speech.

But residents of the desert cities deserved better than hate-mongering.

As our country and world face the challenges of polarization, extremism and terrorism, we need voices of understanding, peace and moderation from all faith communities.

Muslim response to Dutch Legislator's lies about Qur'aan.

The link following this note is a Muslim response to Geert Wilders’ documentary called "Fitna", presenting Islam as a danger to his society. The article in the link is authored by Mike Ghouse* and Imam Zia Shaikh, Imam and an Islamic Scholar of the largest Mosque in Texas.

Mr. Wilders, a Dutch parliamentarian is in Washington DC to dupe a few of our Congressman and Senators. I hope they will have their staff members verify the statements he has quoted in the documentary (the link is in the link) and then check it in the Qur'aan and tell the man to come up with truth and not dupe the Americans any more.

Evil persists, because we the good people do not stop the hate mongering and some of us even fund such documentaries. I have seen a series of such documentaries this year where Islam is deliberately misrepresented with the sole purpose of frightening their insecure and cashing it. It is all about money, they are fooling you and several of us.

There was the “obsession” documentary fraught with misquotes and lies, some 2 million copies were shipped to frighten the Americans to vote the other way prior to November 4th elections. A few more documentaries were shown loaded with blatant lies, one of them was downright stupid but to the producer it had its effect, drill fear and gain favors, in that documentary, the propped up Non-Muslim French Expert on Islam was saying the dumbest things I have ever heard. I challenged the producer to pick up the phone and call any Muslim any where in the world to find it if Muslims don’t believe in the coming of Messiah.

We have a choice to know the truth, and I urge those who truly want peace and co-existence to set up a panel of conservatives, liberals and a whole bunch of moderates to review and answer the audience. Private showings to exclusive groups has an intent of evilness, if it is the truth, let it be in the open, let it be subject to questions and another point of view.

Ultimately it is not the Imam, Rabbi, Pastor, Pundit, Politician, Savior, Policy maker or the Clergy who is responsible for our pain, anguish, pangs of conscience, our actions and our bad intent; it is us who have to deal with it in our lonely moments. Men of God do not sell hate, they are about inclusion and love. We need to have true freedom to find the truth on our own.

Should we fund fear mongering or peace making? The choice is ours. I hope to wake you up and have you fund those who are working on mitigating conflicts and nurturing goodwill.

Mr. Wilders has read my piece linked below and is un-willing to retract the false statements he has made; he quoted them as if they are in Qur'aan, and they are not. His intent is not education but chaos. Wikipedia has made similar mistakes and even the prestigious University of Southern California's website has a quote ascribed to Qur'aan, even with a verse number to give the idea that it is legitimate, but that verse is not in Qur'aan either. Of course, only 1/10th of 1% of the extremists blindly believes in such statements without verifying.

You feel angry knowing that the world stood by silently when the Jews were put on the train to the gas chambers; you feel anger when the Bosnian Muslims children were given chocolates and told not to worry and go right behind and open gunfire and massacre them; you feel anger when the Canadian general sends faxes upon faxes to the United Nations to send help, while the UN and USA did not want to get involved and 800,000 Rwandans were massacred, they were even announcing on their radio how to torture pregnant women to pull out the babies… It was a difficult documentary to watch, but you must watch and face the world; you have to do your share to clean your own slate of conscience.

The Jewish Community Center in Dallas recently screened a documentary about Anti-Semitism in Europe called, “The Monster among us”, produced and directed by Dallas filmmakers Allen and Cynthia Mondell. Watching this film (as well as other films in the past) and listening to the responses of the audience has confirmed my belief that one of the primary obstacles to peace is simply inadequate communications stemming from the unwillingness to see another point of view.

If you find this article offensive, please clarify with me before you draw your conclusions, it is our obligation to repair the world. Prior to publication of this article my Jewish, Christian and Muslim friends have reviewed it to ensure it meets the intent as close as it can and it is to improve communications and a civil dialogue. The producers of the movie have reviewed and shared their point of view, which is included in the essay verbatim.Muslims should participate in Jewish events and vice-versa. Staying away from each other will not contribute towards peace-making that both communities so deserve. We have to come together without conditions and learn each others concerns and clarify mis-information and together find solutions. If we don’t, the who will?

Anti-Semitism is hate for Jews, and to his credit, the producer acknowledged in his comments that both Muslims and Jews are facing this abuse in Europe. As responsible citizens, we need to stand up against hate towards every one. I cannot have peace if others around me aren't peaceful.

To borrow a sentence from my friend Sheila Musaji “these films are to be viewed as opportunities for dialogue and not to further distance ourselves from the other.” We need to consciously guard ourselves from despair and disorientation and focus on hope and goodness to humanity that includes you and I.

I challenge the Muslim and Jewish community to watch this film together with a focus on just the film and its content, we must carry a civil dialogue and learn to take the jolts, then we would have developed the capacity to embark on finding a solution to the crux of the world problem - security of Jews and hope for the Palestinians, together we have an opportunity to find solutions. How Muslim-bashers broadcast their bigotry

A remarkable thing happened at the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) nominations in February 2007: The normally highbrow and tolerant group nominated for best book in the field of criticism a book widely viewed as denigrating an entire religious group.

The nomination of Bruce Bawer's While Europe Slept: How Radical Islam Is Destroying the West From Within didn't pass without controversy. Past nominee Eliot Weinberger denounced the book at the NBCC's annual gathering, calling it ''racism as criticism'' (New York Times, 2/8/07). NBCC board president John Freeman wrote on the group's blog (Critical Mass, 2/4/07): ''I have never been more embarrassed by a choice than I have been with Bruce Bawer's While Europe Slept.... Its hyperventilated rhetoric tips from actual critique into Islamophobia.''

Though it didn't ultimately win the award, While Europe Slept's recognition in the highest literary circles was emblematic of a mainstreaming of Islamophobia, not just in American publishing but in the broader media.

This report takes a fresh look at Islamophobia in today's media and its perpetrators, outlining some of the behind-the-scenes connections that are rarely explored in media. The report also provides four snapshots or "case studies" describing how Islamophobes continue to manipulate media to in order to paint Muslims with a broad, hateful brush. Our aim is to document smearcasting: the public writings and appearances of Islamophobic activists and pundits who intentionally and regularly spread fear, bigotry and misinformation.

The term "Islamophobia" refers to hostility toward Islam and Muslims that tends to dehumanize an entire faith, portraying it as fundamentally alien and attributing to it an inherent, essential set of negative traits such as irrationality, intolerance and violence. And not unlike the charges made in the classical document of anti-Semitism, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, some of Islamophobia's more virulent expressions--like While Europe Slept--include evocations of Islamic designs to dominate the West.

Islamic institutions and Muslims, of course, should be subject to the same kind of scrutiny and criticism as anyone else. For instance, when a Norwegian Islamic Council debates whether gay men and lesbians should be executed, one may forcefully condemn individuals or groups sharing that opinion without pulling all European Muslims into it, as did Bawer's Pajamas Media post (8/7/08), "European Muslims Debate: Should Gays Be Executed?"

Similarly, extremists who justify their violent actions by invoking some particular interpretation of Islam can be criticized without implicating the enormously diverse population of Muslims around the world. After all, reporters managed to cover the Oklahoma City bombing by Timothy McVeigh--an adherent of the racist Christian Identity sect--without resorting to generalized statements about "Christian terrorism." Likewise, media have covered acts of terrorism by fanatics who are Jewish--for instance the Hebron massacre carried out by Baruch Goldstein (Extra!, 5/6/94)--without implicating the entirety of Judaism.

David Horowitz

David Horowitz is the Islamophobia movement's premier promoter. Through his "Islamofascism Awareness Week" (see Islamofascism Case Study), which brought leading Muslim-bashers to more than a hundred college campuses in October 2007, and via his website, FrontPage Magazine, which features the movement's leading writers and links to other anti-Muslim sites, Horowitz has made himself the chief publicist of the Islamophobic movement. (Anti-Muslim and anti-Arab writings at Horowitz's FrontPage Magazine have been exposed for inaccuracy by, among other outlets, the New Yorker magazine--4/14/08.) But more than a promoter, Horowitz is also a key participant. He appears in his own venues as well as in other right-wing arenas, such as the Washington Times, the Weekly Standard and Fox News Channel. In one Fox appearance (5/9/08), he linked Muslim student associations on college campuses across the U.S. to the "terrorist Jihad against the West":

The point here is that there are 150 Muslim students' associations, which are coddled by university administrations and treated as though they were ethnic or religious groups, when they are political groups that are arms of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the fountainhead of the terrorist jihad against the West.No doubt the students are part of the "between 150 million and 750 million Muslims" Horowitz claims "support a holy war against Christians, Jews and other Muslims" (Columbia Spectator, 10/15/07). During a speech at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Horowitz accused students wearing green in support of the schools' Muslim Student Association of supporting Hamas, and students wearing Arab Keffiyehs of honoring Yassir Arafat and terrorism (Santa Barbara Independent, 5/15/08).

Daniel Pipes - Daniel Pipes(see Case Study: Daniel Pipes' Witch Hunt at a Public School)The founder of the Middle East Forum think tank, Pipes has been introduced by the national media as a "scholar" of Islam (e.g., CBS Sunday Morning, 9/10/06; Fox News Special Report, 11/26/02) and a "noted Middle East expert" (CNN Moneyline, 5/8/03) who was "years ahead of the curve in identifying the threat of radical Islam" (CBS Sunday Morning, 9/10/06). However, Pipes' "expertise" has included erroneously linking the Oklahoma City bombing to Islamic groups (USA Today, 4/20/95), as well as warning (National Review, 11/19/90): "Western European societies are unprepared for the massive immigration of brown-skinned peoples cooking strange foods and maintaining different standards of hygiene.... All immigrants bring exotic customs and attitudes, but Muslim customs are more troublesome than most." A defender of racial profiling of Arab-Americans (CNN American Morning, 11/18/02), Pipes has also warned (American Jewish Congress, 10/21/01) that "the presence, and increased stature, and affluence, and enfranchisement of American Muslims" entail "true dangers" for American Jews. As one of the leaders of the "Stop the Madrassa" campaign against a secular Brooklyn-based Arabic language school (see Case Study), he himself has admitted (New York Times.com, 4/28/2008) to misleading the public by using the word "madrassa" to get attention. His columns are featured in the New York Sun, New York Post and National Review, and have also been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Time. Pipes has been interviewed on CNN, MSNBC and PBS, as well as on NPR. A Bush-appointed director of the U.S. Institute of Peace (2003-05), he has a growing reach on college campuses through his Campus Watch initiative, which encourages students in McCarthyite fashion to monitor their professors' political views and report deviations from the conservative ideology Pipes espouses.

Bill O'Reilly

After the September 11 attacks, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly (9/17/01; FAIR Action Alert, 9/21/01) had a whole list of predominantly Muslim countries that he proposed to attack if they did not submit to the U.S.--starting with Afghanistan:

The U.S. should bomb the Afghan infrastructure to rubble-- the airport, the power plants, their water facilities and the roads.... This is a very primitive country. And taking out their ability to exist day to day will not be hard.... If they don't rise up against this criminal government, they starve, period.Also on his list were Iraq ("Their infrastructure must be destroyed and the population made to endure yet another round of intense pain") and Libya ("Nothing goes in, nothing goes out.... Let them eat sand").

This enthusiasm he has expressed for attacking countries with Muslim populations is an O'Reilly trademark (e.g,. Radio Factor, 6/18/04, 3/8/06, 7/26/06). In fairness, he's also expressed similar interest in decimating non-Muslim countries. (See Extra!, 7-8/99.) But his disregard for Muslim civilians is matched by the anti-Muslim sentiments he frequently expresses on both his nationally syndicated radio show, the Radio Factor, which has a reach of 3.5 million listeners (Talkers Magazine, Spring/08) and cable TV show. O'Reilly has bemoaned (O'Reilly Factor, 7/8/05) the fact that areas of London are "just packed with just dense Muslim neighborhoods, which breed this kind of contempt for Western society. Why do they let them in?" He defended airport security profiling of Muslims (O'Reilly Factor, 8/16/06), saying: "We're not at war with Granny Frickin. We're at war with Muslim fanatics. So all young Muslims should be subjected to more scrutiny than Granny"--a move that he said would not be "racial profiling" but rather "criminal profiling." O'Reilly compared a University of South Carolina assignment asking incoming freshmen to read a book called Approaching the Quran:

The Early Revelations to teaching Hitler's Mein Kampf in 1941 (O'Reilly Factor, 7/10/02). O'Reilly also told Stuff magazine (11/02; Extra! Update, 6/03) that "the most unattractive women in the world are probably in the Muslim countries." On his syndicated radio program (Radio Factor, 11/29/06), O'Reilly blamed killings in Iraq on the religion of its people: "They're all Muslims, and they're doing what they do. They're killing each other. And they're killing Americans." Like fellow cable hosts Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, O'Reilly offers a national platform to some of the most egregious Islamophobes. His O'Reilly Factor, which consistently leads ratings in the world of cable news with an audience of over 2 million prime time viewers (New York Times, 8/22/08) has hosted such noted Dirty Dozen members as Robert Spencer (11/20/06) and Pat Robertson, who declared on the O'Reilly Factor (2/27/02) that "out of a billion-plus people there are probably 150 million really fire-breathing Muslims."

Debbie Schulessl

Debbie Schlussel may tout herself to her fan club as the "greatest sexy, blonde and beautiful commentator," but her Islamophobic rhetoric is as ugly as the rest. Schlussel jumped to the erroneous conclusion (Debbie Does Politics, 4/16/07) that a "Paki" was responsible for the Virginia Tech shooting. (She remarked that "even if it does not turn out that the shooter is Muslim, this is a demonstration to Muslim jihadists all over that it is extremely easy to shoot and kill multiple American college students.") When Sen. Barack Obama's campaign team prevented two Muslim women from sitting behind him during a speech (see Islamophobia Election piece, p. n), Schlussel asserted (Debbie Does Politics, 6/19/08) that they were "Muslim Terror Front-Group Activists" (One of them faced this accusation because she held a position at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Muslim Students Association.) Claiming a "unique expertise on radical Islam/Islamic terrorism" (DebbieSchlussel), Schlussel presents America as being in "the war of our lives with Islam," and depicts the American Muslim community as a dangerous fifth column. She has asserted (FrontPage Magazine, 2/10/05) that "Fox's 24...actually tells the truth about Islamic terrorists":

They are here on our shores, pretending to be loyal Americans, and they are plotting to take over our country. With the help of plenty of complicit Muslim-Americans, working for the government and government contractors.A resident of the Detroit area, which has large Muslim and Arab populations, she wrote immediately after the September 11 attacks (9/17/01): "Don't blame federal agents for Tuesday's lapse in national security. Blame my neighbors--the Arab-American and Muslim leaders who've actively blocked the fight against terrorism for years." Schlussel (DebbieSchlussel, 11/13/07) has raised national security concerns about Muslims being employed in certain fields, and having access to public resources that would allow them to teach their own children Arabic:

As long as we continue to hire Muslims to be translators and analysts, as long as we continue to give money to Arabic and Muslim schools to teach their kids Arabic instead of non-Muslim, non-Arab Americans, as long as the FBI (and ICE) continues to turn down Sephardic Jews and Maronite Lebanese Christians who speak Arabic and who've applied for jobs in favor of extremist Muslims...the result we will get is...spies, spies and more spies.She has also questioned (12/18/06) "Barack Hussein Obama's" patriotism based on his father being born Muslim. Schlussel's columns have been published by the Wall Street Journal (6/24/05), the New York Post, and the Jerusalem Post. She has appeared on Fox News, CNN, ABC, Howard Stern and ESPN, and, in 2002=03, her own radio show on a CBS-owned Detroit station. Her blog Debbie Does Politics appears on the websites Townhall.com and PoliticalUSA.com, has she has also been quoted by Rush Limbaugh and in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Newsweek, Rolling Stone and USA Today.

Pat Robertson

If you're looking for Christian charity toward Muslims, don't look to Rev. Pat Robertson or his Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). Robertson subscribes to Robert Spencer's view that Islam is, in its essence, violent and irrational. He describes (700 Club, 8/29/06) Osama bin Laden as a true disciple of the Quran "because he's following through literally word-for-word what it says." Robertson tells viewers of his signature CBN show, the 700 Club, that Islam is "not a religion" but a "worldwide political movement...meant to subjugate all people under Islamic law" (6/12/07). At the same time, he claims Islam is a "bloody, brutal type of religion" (4/28/06) whose followers only "deal with history and the truth with violence" and "don't understand what reasoned dialogue is" (9/25/06).

When cartoons that portrayed Muhammad negatively sparked protest among Muslims, Robertson announced (3/13/06): "These people are crazed fanatics, and I want to say it now: I believe it's motivated by demonic power. It is satanic and it's time we recognize what we're dealing with." Robertson is not ranting that his enemies are possessed by demons on a street corner; his soapbox is a world-wide television syndicate reaching 200 countries and 97 percent of U.S. television markets (CBN.com). His show also serves as a platform for other Islamophobes (e.g., Robert Spencer, 9/21/06; Daniel Pipes, 4/9/03).

Michael Savage

If Daniel Pipes and Robert Spencer serve the movement by providing intellectual arguments for its rank and file, Michael Savage serves as its angry rabble-rouser. And Savage's reach is remarkable: His radio show Savage Nation reaches a reported 8.25 million listeners per week (Talkers Magazine, Spring/08), the third most popular political talk radio show in the country (trailing only Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity). Savage is notorious for his relentlessly hateful language--he was fired from his MSNBC gig when he labeled a caller a "sodomite" and told him to "get AIDS and die" (FAIR Action Alert, 7/7/03)--and Muslims are often his target.

"When I see a woman walking around with a burqa," Savage told his listeners on July 2, 2007, "I see a Nazi…a hateful Nazi who would like to cut your throat and kill your children." Savage sees a monolithic Islamic scheme to take over the U.S.--"We know you want to take over America. We know you wanna push your religion down everyone's throat," (Savage Nation, 7/2/07)--and imagines himself one of the few brave souls standing up against the onslaught (10/29/07): "I'm not gonna put my wife in a hijab. And I'm not gonna put my daughter in a burqa. And I'm not getting on my all-fours and braying to Mecca.... I don't wanna hear anymore about Islam.

Take your religion and shove it up your behind." Savage has even called (4/17/06) for killing a hundred million Muslims, saying that people are very depressed by the weakness that America is showing to these psychotics in the Muslim world. They say, "Oh, there's a billion of them." I said, "So, kill 100 million of them, then there'll be 900 million of them." I mean, would you rather die--would you rather us die than them? I mean, what is it going to take for you people to wake up? Would you rather we disappear or we die? Or would you rather they disappear and they die? Because you're going to have to make that choice sooner rather than later.

Steve Emerson

The founder and executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism think tank, Emerson regularly crops up as an "expert on Islamic terrorism" (New York Times, 1/16/01) in national media outlets ranging from the New York Times and Washington Post to CNN and NBC News (where he is employed as an analyst); he specializes in advancing allegations linking Muslim groups in the U.S. to fundamentalist Islamic international terrorism.

A proponent of a theory that "the U.S. has become occupied fundamentalist territory" (Jerusalem Post, 8/8/97), he has written (Jewish Monthly, 3/95; Extra! 7=8/95) that "the level of vitriol against Jews and Christianity within contemporary Islam...sanctions genocide, planned genocide, as part of its religious doctrine." Veteran reporter Robert Friedman accused Emerson of "creating mass hysteria against American Arabs" (Nation, 5/15/95) with his film Jihad in America.

As a consultant for an Associated Press series about American Muslim groups, Emerson presented AP reporters with what he claimed were FBI documents describing mainstream American Muslim groups with alleged terrorist sympathies, according to the AP series' lead writer, Richard Cole (Extra!, 7=8/95). However, Cole said that AP staff discovered that the dossier was almost identical to one earlier authored by Emerson himself. Emerson's FBI dossier "was really his," according to Cole. "He had edited out all phrases, taken out anything that made it look like his."

Emerson erroneously blamed the Oklahoma City bombing on Middle Eastern groups, proclaiming on CBS Evening News (4/19/95; Extra! 1=2/99): "This was done with the attempt to inflict as many casualties as possible. That is a Middle Eastern trait." He said on CNBC (8/23/96) that "it was a bomb that brought down TWA Flight 800"; investigations by the National Transportation Safety Agency (8/23/00) and the FBI (11/18/97) concluded otherwise. He also misidentified (CNN, 3/2/93) the perpetrators of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing--blaming it, ironically enough, on Yugoslavians, when the people convicted of the attack were Arabs.

Despite his track record, he continues to be identified as a "terrorism expert" (Fox News Hannity & Colmes, 1/11/08; NBC Today, 6/4/07, Wall Street Journal, 6/6/07). Emerson can still be heard testifying in congressional committees on terrorism (CQ Congressional Testimony, 4/9/08, 7/31/08), as well as on the media, in the middle of discussions about Islamic terrorism, warning (CNBC's Kudlow & Company, 6/8/07) of the FBI's failure to "battle...groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations and other jihadists that don't break the law."

Michelle Malkin

Michelle Malkin calls Islam "the religion of perpetual outrage" on her two blogs, MichelleMalkin.com (8/1/06, 2/11/08) and Hot Air (2/9/08), though Malkin herself seems remarkably easy to outrage. When celebrity chef Rachael Ray was featured in a 2008 Dunkin' Donuts ad wearing a black-and-white paisley scarf that vaguely resembled an Arab keffiyeh, Malkin created such an uproar over what she imagined to be a "hate couture" symbol of "murderous Palestinian jihad" (MichelleMalkin.com, 5/28/08) that Dunkin' Donuts pulled the ad and issued an apology (Huffington Post, 5/28/08).

In her book In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in WWII and the War on Terror, Malkin argued that the mass incarceration of Japanese-Americans was explained and justified by what she presented as evidence of subversion; she drew a present-day parallel to alleged subversion amongst Muslim and Arab populations in the U.S. today.The main thesis of the book was condemned as historically incorrect by the Historians' Committee for Fairness (8/31/04), which stated that Malkin's book was "contradicted by several decades of scholarly research, including works by the official historian of the United States Army and an official U.S. government commission."

On her website (8/10/06) Malkin explained why by she no longer uses the term "Islamofascism": I stopped using the terms "Islamic fascist" and "Islamofascism" a while ago...because they obscure rather than clarify. The views held by the Muslim jihadis who want to destroy us are not marginal views held only by a minority of "Islamic fascists."

Malkin is a New York Times bestselling author and was named by the London Observer (3/16/08) one of the 50 most powerful bloggers. Her columns are also published on Vdare, the white nationalist website (Extra!, 3-4/05).

Glen Beck

Glenn Beck claims he doesn't hate Islam, just its "evil" extremists, but during his eponymous CNN Headline News show and the Glenn Beck Program--the third highest-rated national radio talk show among adults ages 25 to 54 (CNN.com)--he has repeatedly associated Islam with Nazism. He drew a parallel between Mein Kampf and "jihad" because, he said, both mean "my struggle" (Glenn Beck, 11/17/06), and he has warned (Glenn Beck, 7/12/06) of "World War III and the impending apocalypse," declaring that "whether you like it or not, this is a religious war. Radical Muslims want to wipe everybody else off the face of the earth."

Beck reserves some hate-talk even for "good" Muslims (Glenn Beck Program, 8/10/06):
All you Muslims who have sat on your frickin' hands the whole time and have not been marching in the streets and have not been saying, "Hey, you know what? There are good Muslims and bad Muslims. We need to be the first ones in the recruitment office lining up to shoot the bad Muslims in the head." I'm telling you, with God as my witness... human beings are not strong enough, unfortunately, to restrain themselves from putting up razor wire and putting you on one side of it.... When people become hungry, when people see that their way of life is on the edge of being over, they will put razor wire up and just based on the way you look or just based on your religion, they will round you up. Is that wrong? Oh my gosh, it is Nazi, World War II wrong, but society has proved it time and time again: It will happen.

Beck had made earlier allusions to putting Muslims in concentration camps, predicting in 2006 (Glenn Beck, 9/5/06): "In 10 years, Muslims and Arabs will be looking through a razor wire fence at the West."

Beck has asked Muslim guests to distinguish themselves from Islamic terrorists. "I mean, you're reasonable," he said to Sharida McKenzie, organizer of a Muslim Peace March (Glenn Beck, 10/4/07). "How do we know the difference between you and those that are trying to kill us?"

When Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, appeared on his show (Glenn Beck, 11/14/06), Beck said: "I have been nervous about this interview with you, because what I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.'" Beck added: "I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way."

Commenting on ABC News (Good Morning America, 5/23/07) on a Pew Research Center public opinion poll of American Muslims, which, according to Pew's report ("American Muslims: Middle Class and Mostly Mainstream," 5/22/07) showed" absolute levels of support for Islamic extremism among Muslim Americans are quite low, especially when compared with Muslims around the world," Beck stated that the findings showed that "the seeds of destruction are being planted."

Although Beck apologized for the remark (Reliable Sources, 3/18/07), he continues to display anti-Muslim sentiment on his radio and television programs, through his magazine Fusion and as an occasional source on ABC News.

Robert Spencer

According to American Muslim and former Nixon advisor Robert Crane (The Politics of Islam(ism): Decolonising the Postcolonial, 11/10=11/07), Robert Spencer is "the principal leader…in the new academic field of Islam-bashing."

Spencer is the author of several books attacking Islam, including the New York Times bestsellers The Truth About Muhammad, Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion (Regnery, 2006) and The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) (Regnery, 2005). He is the publisher of the "notoriously Islamophobic website" Jihad Watch (Guardian, 2/7/06), a subsidiary of the David Horowitz Freedom Center; a columnist for right-wing outlets like Human Events and WorldNetDaily; and a recurring guest on Glenn Beck's CNN Headline News show, as well as several Fox News shows.

Though his scholarship has been questioned by Islamic scholars (e.g. Crane, AmericanMuslim.com, 10/20/07; Louay M. Safi, Media Monitors Network, 12/29/05; Khalil Mohammed, FrontPage Magazine, 4/18/05), Spencer serves as an intellectual force in the movement, specializing in one-sided interpretations of the Quran. He has written (cited in Crane, MuslimAmerican.com, 10/20/07) of Osama bin Laden's use of quotes from the Quran:

Of course, the devil can quote scripture for his own purpose, but Osama's use of these and other passages in his messages is consistent (as we shall see) with traditional understanding of the Quran. When modern-day Jews and Christians read their Bibles, they simply don't interpret the passages cited as exhorting them to violent actions against unbelievers. This is due to the influence of centuries of interpretative traditions that have moved them away from literalism regarding these passages. But in Islam, there is no comparable interpretative tradition.

Yet Islam does in fact have an interpretive tradition, which Spencer seems bent on ignoring. His New York Times bestseller The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam has been faulted (Crane, AmericanMuslim.com, 10/20/07) for promoting a Puffin English-language version of the Quran that contains no explanatory commentary as superior to versions which include "many thousands of footnotes evaluating 14 centuries of interpretative tradition" and "the wealth of classical Islamic scholarship on both the inner and outer meaning of the Quran and on the hadith that reflect this wisdom."

According to Crane, "Spencer's readers are carefully steered away from all contact with the Islamic interpretative tradition, which equals or exceeds that of any other religion, because any scholarly knowledge about Islam would expose all his extremist interpretations to ridicule."

By selectively ignoring inconvenient Islamic texts and commentaries, Spencer concludes that Islam is innately extremist and violent, and
Unfortunately, however, jihad as warfare against non-believers in order to institute "Sharia" worldwide is not propaganda or ignorance, or a heretical doctrine held by a tiny minority of extremists. Instead, it is a constant element of mainstream Islamic theology. (Jihad Watch, 3/3/07).

Of course, a similarly selective reading of the Torah might lead one to conclude that Jews favor killing homosexuals, as well as those who wear garments that mix cotton and wool. Spencer's methods have prompted even conservatives such as Dinesh D'Souza (who challenged his views on Islam in a C-SPAN debate--3/1/07-- and on his blog--AOL News Bloggers, 3/2/07) and Stephen Schwartz (FrontPageMag.com, 10/28/04) to denounce him as one-sided and intolerant.

But those methods have made Spencer a mainstay in the Islamophobia circuit, featured, for example, at Horowitz's 2007 Islamofascism Awareness events. And they haven't decreased his popularity in official circles: His website boasts that he has led seminars on Islam and jihad for, among others, the U.S. Central Command, the Department of Homeland Security, the Joint Terrorism Task Force and "the U.S. intelligence community."

Mark Steyn

Mark Steyn has a penchant for using ethnic slurs, including "chinks" and "japs" (Spectator, 3/24/01), but he is at his most prolific and poisonous on the subject of Muslims. In his 2006 New York Times best seller, America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It, Steyn warns of the "demographic decline" posed by Europe's emerging Muslim population, and suggests there are lessons for Europeans in the Balkan example of ethnic cleansing. As he explains, "You can't buck demography--except through civil war":

The Serbs figured that out--as other Continentals will in the years ahead: If you can't outbreed the enemy, cull 'em. The problem that Europe faces is that Bosnia's demographic profile is now the model for the entire continent.

It's enough to make one wonder what Steyn has in mind when he insists that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is "a Muslim" (Chicago Sun-Times, 1/21/07).

Islamophobic rants on Europe's demographic decline and "grim Eurostatistics" (National Review, 6/2/08) are a regular feature of Steyn's columns, which run in the National Review and New York Sun. In addition to writing frequently in other major U.S. outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun-Times and Atlantic Monthly, Steyn often substitutes for talkshow hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

Sean Hannity

Remarking on reports that U.S. congressman Keith Ellison, a Muslim, was planning to be sworn in with a Quran, Fox News personality Sean Hannity (Hannity & Colmes, 11/30/06) drew a parallel between Islam and Nazism, asking a guest on his show, "Would you have allowed him to choose, you know, Hitler's Mein Kampf, which is the Nazi bible?" (Hannity insisted he was not equating Mein Kampf and the Quran, rendering his point entirely unclear.) But more important than his occasional personal forays into Muslim-bashing, Hannity regularly provides a welcoming national platform to some of the country's leading Islamophobes, through his nationally syndicated Sean Hannity Show on radio and his Hannity & Colmes show on Fox News (with only occasional challenges on Hannity & Colmes by co-host Alan Colmes).

On the Sean Hannity Show (2/9/04), U.S. Representative Peter King (R.-N.Y.) told Hannity's listeners that 85 percent of mosques in America are "ruled by the extremists," constituting "an enemy living amongst us." King added that while most American Muslims were more moderate, "they don't come forward, they don't tell the police."

Hannity's remarks on the Quran came in a show (Hannity & Colmes, 11/30/06) that featured talkshow host Dennis Prager, who denounced Ellison's plans to be sworn in on the Islamic book. Hannity uncritically summarized his argument for him: "You said that his doing so will embolden Islamic extremists and make new ones, and they'll see it as the first sign and realization of a greatest goal, which is the, you know, making Islam the religion of America."

Also on Hannity & Colmes (9/18/02), Pat Robertson called Islam fraudulent and a scam, Mohammad "an absolute wild-eyed fanatic," and said that Al Qaeda was merely "carrying out Islam." Other Islamophobes that have appeared on Hannity's two shows include Ann Coulter, David Horowitz and Daniel Pipes.

McCain's Pastor: US Should Destroy Islam

Brave New Films & Mother Jones : Since the media won't question McCain about his deeply bigoted pastor, it's up to you to call attention to this issue.

You may have heard of Rev. John Hagee, the McCain supporter who said God created Hurricane Katrina to punish New Orleans for its homosexual "sins". Well now meet Rev. Rod Parsley, the televangelist megachurch pastor from Ohio who hates Islam. According to David Corn of Mother Jones, Parsley has called on Christians to wage war against Islam, which he considers to be a "false religion".

In the past, Parsley has also railed against the separation of church and state, homosexuals, and abortion rights, comparing Planned Parenthood to Nazis. John McCain actively sought and received Parsley's endorsement in the presidential race. McCain has called Parsley "a spiritual guide", and he hasn't said whether he shares Parsley's vicious anti-Islam views. That's because the mainstream media refuses to ask.

And so, we've taken matters into our own hands, joining Mother Jones to present the truth about McCain's pastor. Since the media won't question McCain about his deeply bigoted pastor, it's up to you to call attention to this issue. Make McCain's pastor problem a major story by forwarding this video to your family, friends, and colleagues. We can't let McCain get away with aligning himself with a religious leader who's called for an all-out war on Islam, someone who draws no distinctions between Muslims and violent Islamic extremists. Now is the crucial time to act.

I wish they spend the time in mitigating conflicts and nuruturing goodwill, sadly there is no money in peace. As long as there is market and money for hate speeches, we will always have Shoebat, Bin Laden, Dershowitz, Wafa Sultan and others.

The Neocons and zionists should not give a lift to these guys and instead look at peace options, which is really what they want, but don't know how to go about and in the process create Chaos.

When he was 16, says Walid Shoebat, he was recruited by a PLO operative by the name of Mahmoud al-Mughrabi to carry out an attack on a branch of Bank Leumi in Bethlehem.

At six in the evening he was supposed to detonate a bomb in the doorway of the bank. But when he saw a group of Arab children playing nearby, he says, his conscience was pricked and he threw the bomb onto the roof of the bank instead, where it exploded causing no fatalities.

This is the story that Shoebat, who converted from Islam to Christianity in 1993 and has lived in the United States since the late 1970s, has told on tours around the US and Europe since 9/11 opened the West's public consciousness to the dangers of Islamic extremism.

Shoebat's Web site says his is an assumed name, used to protect him from reprisal attacks by his former terror chiefs, whom he says have put a $10 million price on his head.

Shoebat is sometimes paid for his appearances, and he also solicits donations to a Walid Shoebat Foundation to help fund this work and to "fight for the Jewish people."

The BBC, Fox News and CNN have all presented Shoebat as a terrorist turned peacemaker, interviewing him as someone uniquely capable of providing insight into the terrorist mindset.

Now he and two other former extremists are set to appear along with US Senator Joe Lieberman, Ambassador to the US Sallai Meridor and other notables at an annual "Christians United For Israel" conference in Washington in July.

The three "ex-terrorists" have appeared previously at Harvard and Columbia universities and, most recently, at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado, in February, at a conference whose findings, the organizers said, would be circulated at the Pentagon and among members of Congress and other influential figures.

Last year, Shoebat spoke to the BattleCry Christian gathering in San Francisco, which drew a reported 22,000 evangelical teenagers to what the San Francisco Chronicle described as "a mix of pep rally, rock concert and church service."

The paper described Shoebat as a self-proclaimed "former Islamic terrorist" who said that Islam was a "satanic cult" and who told the crowd how he eventually accepted Jesus into his heart.

However, Shoebat's claim to have bombed Bank Leumi in Bethlehem is rejected by members of his family who still live in the area, and Bank Leumi says it has no record of such an attack ever taking place.

His relatives, members of the Shoebat family, are mystified by the notion of "Walid Shoebat" being an assumed name. And the Walid Shoebat Foundation's working process is less than transparent, with Shoebat's claim that it is registered as a charity in the state of Pennsylvania being denied by the Pennsylvania State Attorney's Office.

Shoebat's claim to have been a terrorist rests on his account of the purported bombing of Bank Leumi. But after checking its files, the bank said it had no record of an attack on its Bethlehem branch anywhere in the relevant 1977-79 period.

Shoebat told The Jerusalem Post that this could be because the bank building was robustly protected with steel and that the attack may have caused little damage.

Asked whether word of the bombing made the news at the time, he said, "I don't know. I didn't read the papers because I was in hiding for the next three days." (In 2004, he had told Britain's Sunday Telegraph: "I was terribly relieved when I heard on the news later that evening that no one had been hurt or killed by my bomb.")

Shoebat could not immediately recall the year, or even the time of year, of the purported bombing when talking to the Post by phone from the US. After wavering, he finally settled for the summer of 1977.

The Sunday Telegraph described Shoebat as a man who "for much of his life... was eager to commit acts of terrorism for the sake of his soul and the Palestinian cause."

In that interview he described how he and his peers were indoctrinated as children "to believe that the fires of hell were an ever-present reality. We were all terrified of burning in hell when we died... The teachers told us that the only way we could certainly avoid that fate was to die in a martyrdom operation - to die for Islam."

But an uncle and a cousin of Shoebat, who still live in Beit Sahur in the Bethlehem area, where Shoebat grew up, said that Shoebat's education was rather mild ideologically, and that religion did not play a dominant role.

The uncle, interviewed at his home, said he remembered little about his nephew, because Walid left for America at the age of 16, and because his American mother always kept a distance from the rest of the family. The uncle and his wife both said firmly that there was no attack on Bank Leumi.

When questioned on this discrepancy, Shoebat was adamant that he did carry out such a bombing, and that his relatives deny it to cover up for another cousin who was with him during the attack and still lives in Bethlehem.

Shoebat evinced no particular surprise that his family could be tracked down simply by asking Beit Sahur locals where they lived, even though his Internet site claims that his is an assumed name.

Shoebat describes his conversion to Christianity as a transformation "from hate to love." He told the Post that he believes "in a Greater Israel that includes Judea and Samaria, and by this I mean a Jewish state."

He argued that Israel should retake the Gaza Strip and rehouse Jews there, regarding Gaza as Jewish by right. "If a Jew has no right to Gaza, then he has no right to Jaffa or Haifa either," he said.

He advocates that the government of Greater Israel introduce a law providing for the exiling of anybody who denies its right to exist, "even if they were born there."

He has little sympathy for the PLO or Hamas. "The Palestinians have not met a single demand from Israel," he said, and added, "Both the PLO and Hamas have not given up the goal of destroying Israel."

"The Jews are not aware of the true threat," Shoebat said. "They are still fighting dead Nazis. It is easy to fight dead people. But they don't have the will to fight the living Nazis, the Islamic radicals."

He told the Post he had set up his Walid Shoebat Foundation to educate Americans as to why the US should support Israel. Shoebat said the foundation had reached out to over 450 million people. He said it held events where he and others like him - whom he called "ex-terrorists" who have become Zionists - spoke about their views to Jewish, Christian and secular audiences.

A New York Times report last month on the Air Force Academy event, headlined "Speakers at Academy Said to Make False Claims," noted that "Academic professors and others who have heard the three men speak in the United States and Canada said some of their stories border on the fantastic, like Mr. Saleem's account of how, as a child, he infiltrated Israel to plant bombs via a network of tunnels underneath the Golan Heights. No such incidents have been reported, the academic experts said. They also question how three middle-aged men who claim they were recruited as teenagers or younger could have been steeped in the violent religious ideology that only became prevalent in the late 1980s."

The Times quoted Prof. Douglas Howard, who teaches the history of the modern Middle East at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as saying after he heard Saleem speak last November at the college that he thought the three were connected to several major Christian evangelical organizations.

"It was just an old time gospel hour: 'Jesus can change your life, he changed mine,'" Howard said.

The professor told the Times that his doubts about the authenticity of the three grew after he heard stories like that of the Golan Heights tunnels, "as well as something on Mr. Saleem's Web site along the lines that he was descended from the grand wazir of Islam. The grand wazir of Islam is a nonsensical term."

The newspaper said Arab-American civil rights organizations have questioned "why, at a time when the United States government has vigorously moved to jail or at least deport anyone with a known terrorist connection, the three men, if they are telling the truth, are allowed to circulate freely."

A spokesman for the FBI, the paper reported, said there were no warrants for their arrest.

The Times said the three men were to be paid $13,000 for the Air Force Academy event.

Visitors to Shoebat's Internet site are encouraged to make a donation to his foundation to enable him to disseminate his message. However, a notice on the page states that for "security reasons," the money will not be debited to his foundation, but rather to a company called Top Executive Media. The name Top Executive Media is used by a greetings card firm from Pennsylvania called Top Executive Greetings, a company with an annual turnover of $500,000. When one makes a donation through the Shoebat Internet site, the Web address changes to topexecutivegreetings.com/shoebat.

This seems to be the only active page for the company; its homepage is blank.

Asked by the Post whether the Walid Shoebat Foundation is a registered charity, Shoebat replied that it is registered in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania State Attorney's office said it had no record of a charity registered under this name.

Questioned further, Shoebat said it was registered under a different name, but that he was not aware of the details, which are handled by his manager.

"I remain separate to the running of the charity so that I am not constrained by church rules," he explained, adding that the organization's connection to certain churches meant it would be difficult for him to speak to secular audiences if he became too involved in running it.

Dr. Joel Fishman, of the Allegany County Law Library in Pennsylvania, expressed doubts about this donation process. If the money were being given to a registered charity, the charity would have to make annual reports to the state and federal government on how it was being spent, he noted.

Shoebat insisted donations were not being misused, however. "I survive by being an author," he said. "I only get paid for being an author. All the money that is donated gets put back into events."

If the Bank Leumi bombing claim is unfounded, it is unclear why Shoebat would have wanted to manufacture a terrorist past. True or not, however, it has plainly brought him some prominence and provided him with a means to speak in favor of Israel and be paid for doing so.

Neconism is an attitude latent in each one of us, and not a group or certain people.

Every group, religious or otherwise is composed of the good, bad and the ugly; we can further classify them into pacifist, peacemakers, saints, fundamentalist, conservatives, liberals, terrorists, extremists, fanatics, good people and every possible category.

Bad apples are part of the mix you get; you’ll find them in Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity and all other religions. They are part of every possible mix from the board room, to City council, to executive committees, religious meetings, social meetings, cultural meeting... bad apples are going to be there, it is a part of the whole.

Neocons are people who act and talk contrary to the very belief they claim to espouse. It is their way or no way. Their attitudes are shaped by the fear that their life is at risk if others exist, if they can, they would wipe every one off from the face of the earth who ever differs from them. They manufacture imaginary enemies as Samuel Hunington had crafted the myth of Clash of Civilizations. They are intolerant and an insecure group of men. They trust their Gun power but invoke God in vain, they do not have an appetite for dialogue, they are afraid to listen to another point of view. They are chaotic and desperate souls.

Neocons are mindless butchers. They chop up God into bits and pieces, and their bit of God is supreme to other pieces. They are a bunch of "me, me and me" babies and everthing is for them and not for others to have.

They pretend that God is on their side, and has exclusively given them the permission or at to dominate, control, monopolize and influence the resources that God has created for the benefit of his creation. They know what is good for others, they want to have it all. And finally, the Neocons do not value other people's life.

The Neocon variety exists in every group;

1. They are among Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and others.
2. They are in business of maligning other groups for their gains.
3. They live in hallucinations that their group is right and others are wrong.
4. They tell a bold face lie to the public at large like the WMD's.
5. They are in it for money, but pretent to save their community.
6. They frighten the crap out of you with their cooked up stories and documentaries
7. Their only interest is them and monies funneling to them.

The imaginary societal make up every imaginable group including Atheists;

95.00% Moderates - they mind their own business and have no problems with others
02.40% Liberals - they stretch the limits of the traditions
00.10% Ultra Liberals - Me, me an me - no rules
02.40% Conservatives - They want to hang on to the traditions
00.10% Neocons - Me, me, and me - everyone is wrong, I am right, my way or no way.
100.0% Total

I will continue to break this down into further orientations. If I get the time to do a survey research, I will do it, but Gallup or some one can pick this and do the work to prove or disprove this or find the numbers. These are merely my guesstimates.

Offensive and Mis-representative phrases;

Neocon is a word I will be using to describe the extremists in every group;

Islamist V. Islam

Islamist is a small band of individuals who fit the description of Neocons above. They do not follow their own religion, yet claim to own it. Where as Islam is a religion, like all other religions and it fits the description of religion above. Make no mistake about it; the Islamists unabashedly violate the very principles of Islam they claim to protect.

Islamist no more; they will be called Neocon-Muslims.

Hindutva V. Hinduism

Hindutva is a political group driven by a few individuals, who fit the description of Neocons above. Where as Hinduism is a religion of co-existence, like all other religions and fits the description of religion above. Make no mistake about it; the Hindutva forces unabashedly violate the very principles of Hinduism they claim to protect.

Hindutva no more; they will be called Neocon-Hindus.

Necons V. Christianity

Neocons are defined above. Christianity is the religion of love and none of the Neocons who unashamedly wear the label of religion follow the teachings of Christ. Make no mistake about it; the Neocon forces unabashedly violate the very principles Jesus taught, they claim to protect.

Neocons no more; they will be called Necon-Christians.

Zionism V. Judaism

Zionism in its simplest form is the desire of the Jews in diaspora to live in their home land, indeed, that is the desire of most people; to be at home where they feel secure. Zionism encapsulates the dream of the Jewish people to have a homeland; it is an idea of life for the people. The Word Zionism conjures up different images to different people, we have to accept that bad elements are in every group, whether Zionism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism or others, we cannot brand the whole group for the acts of few, this amounts to stereotyping and it is wholesale prejudice.

Islamist is a bad word to lump all Muslims, or Hindutva is a bad word to lump all Hindus, we cannot lump all Zionists as a bad people for the acts of a few. As a Muslim and as a Pluralist, I will do my part to keep people from stereotyping others, however, we all (people of all faiths) need to join and do a combined education. No Muslim should smile when some one is bashing Judaism, no Jew should gloat if some one is bashing Muslims, or Hinduism or Christianity, that is downright stupid and not religious at all.

The word Zionism word will be used to describe the dreams of Jewish people and to describe the extremists among them, we have the right word; Neocon Jews.

Zionist no more; they will be called Neocon- Jews or Neocon-Zionists

Some of these Necons gang up to be against their perceived common enemy, frienships should be based on the good things they can do together.
