American Muslim Agenda - What is it?

What is that Americans Muslims want? How close are they to what you want? What can they do about it? What are your issues with each other? If you are a conservative, grudgingly, you'll see the value in this book, and if you are a moderate, you'll dance and sing along with joy.

You and I have a responsibility to create a world where, you, me, and our grandchildren can live without apprehensions. No matter we go, we should feel secure about faith, race, ethnicity, culture and our political and sexual orientation.

Would the book American Muslim Agenda bring attitudinal change among Muslims?  Yes, it will, it’s akin to planting seeds and nurturing it to give the beneficence to the next generation. I know most American Muslims will wholeheartedly subscribe to the refreshed understanding of Islam, we need to expand it to more Americans.

Some of the reservations we have about Muslims and Islam are based on what we have heard from our parents, teachers, clergy, favorite media people and others.  We need to find the truth on our own and find freedom from misunderstandings. It is a blessing to be free.
Muslims have shied away from confronting difficult issues about their faith, and most of them don't even have a clue about the essence of Islam, it was never articulated before in the history of Islam.

A few medieval scholars have reduced Islam to rituals, five pillars, dhimmi, jizya, sharia, externalities, and enforcement of your rules on to others. That is not Islam, and most Muslims can recite verses that Islam is about free will. God uploaded free will into Adam’s DNA, and emphasized it in the Quran, the prophet practiced ‘freewill’ and established examples for it. Sadly, Muslims know the truth but were bullied into silence with fatwa bombs. All I have done is articulated what Muslims believe, but dared not say it. The book is the voice of the majority of ‘American’ Muslims.

This book is a product of twenty years of research and thousands of discussions in which Muslims, non-Muslims, and “Islamophobes” have participated in it, including debates on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Stuart Varney, Pamela Geller, Brigitte Gabrielle, Robert Spencer, Jamie Glazov, Raymond Ibrahim, Walid Shoebat, Wafa Sultan, and several others.

Islam is about living your life and letting others live theirs. Islam is about building cohesive societies where all of God's creation lives with dignity and freedom. In God’s universe, we are merely a speck, and no one is more privileged than the other. If you are a moderate individual of any faith, you will find the book in tune with you.

It is time to go beyond the five pillars of Islam, and I hope the Imams and Muslim scholars who are free thinkers would appreciate the contents of the book. This book may indeed become a reference manual for teaching Islamic values that contribute to creating a better world for all humanity.

The American Muslim Agenda offers guidance to Muslims to be one with all, and it voices what Muslims believe and live with and empowers them to live their lives and let others live with free will.  The book opens the door to people of other faiths to shed their biases and join hands in creating a world of safety, security, and harmony for all humanity.

Islam is a public religion, and Muslims don't own it exclusively. You are invited to participate in discussions, including your faith.  The book is expected to initiate conversations about the nature of Islam and fellow humans. I welcome your criticism (after reading the book).

You can get the book by calling 1-888-795-4274 x 4528 or get it from Amazon online or a book store. You can find the talking points at www.AmericanMuslimAgenda.com.

Should Hindus and Indians be embarrassed?

As an Indian American, it is embarrassing to see my country listed as the 4th worst country in the world for religious violence.
Hinduism does not allow you to kill, maim, molest and rape others, the men and women who are doing this are doing it on their own or their politics is encouraging them to do it. At the end, they are staining the name of India and Hinduism both.
If you are the wrongdoer, you need to be embarrassed and seek repentance, all of us need to seek it as it frees our souls. On the other hand, if you are not the guy who is harming fellow Indians, you need to condemn the traitors who are killing, maiming, harassing and raping fellow Indians in the name of Hindutva, which is not Hinduism.
If you are an Indian-American, you ought to be ashamed of your silence for atrocities against fellow Indians who are different than you. You need to speak up. Should the majority of Americans treat you the same?
The Hindu America Foundation can take up the issue and urge the Modi government to bring the rule of law and restore dharma for every Indian to live a normal life without fearing the other.  Let every Indian have the freedom to believe whatever he/she wants to believe, eat, drink or wear whatever suits him or her and live his life to the fullest in the pursuit of his happiness.

India is the fourth-worst country in the world for religious violence

India historically touts itself as a secular state, one where all religions are recognized and can peacefully co-exist. Well, at least in theory, it is. Unfortunately, the reality is much different.
An April 11 Pew Research Center analysis of 198 countries ranked India as fourth worst in the world for religious intolerance. In the country of 1.3 billion, the incidence of hostility related to religion trailed only Syria, Nigeria and Iraq, all places where sectarian violence is widespread.
India is not alone in seeing more religious unrest. Globally, Pew says, government restrictions on religion and social hostilities involving religion increased in 2015 for the first time in three years.
Pew analyzed cases that involved hate crimes, mob violence, communal violence, religion-related terror, the use of force to prevent religious practice, the harassment of women for not conforming to religious dress codes, and violence over conversion or proselytizing.
The Hindu vs. Muslim history
Tensions between religious groups—especially Hindus and Muslims—has long divided India, but the rifts have intensified. “[In 2015,] Muslims in India at times experienced attacks by Hindus because of alleged cow slaughter, while Hindus were also sometimes the targets of hostilities by Muslims as well,” Katayoun Kishi, the study’s lead author, told Quartz. “In addition, there were multiple incidents of rioting and mob violence involving the two groups.”
Lynchings of beef-eating Muslims have compromised India’s status as a secular country. But a re-burgeoning Hindutva nationalist agenda has not made even the majority Hindus immune to discrimination, in India or elsewhere. Around the world, Hindus were harassed in 18 countries, fewer places than some other groups. “But the vast majority of the world’s Hindus—95%—live in India, where harassment of Hindus by both government and social groups was reported in 2015,” the study’s authors note. Dalits, the lowest-caste Hindus, were especially ill-treated in society. (Dalits are often secluded from basic government institutions and services, such as education and health care, too.)
National crime statistics in India also indicated that, compared with other caste affiliations, assailants most often perpetrated rape against Dalit women, according to the US State Department’s human-rights country report. Many of the assailants are not prosecuted. On June 24, 2015, attackers beheaded Dalit engineer V. Gokulraj in Pallipallayam, Tamil Nadu, reportedly because of a romantic relationship with an upper-caste Hindu classmate. The primary suspect, local caste leader S. Yuvaraj, absconded for months after the incident. (He later surrendered.)

Real life vs. the law

India’s constitution provides for religious freedom, but the country does not always practice it.
Overall, the Pew study criticizes India for having “high” levels of government restrictions on religion, defined as interference in religion practice or proselytizing, hostility to minority religions and inaction on complaints of discrimination.
“Non-Hindus were particularly impacted by government restrictions in India in 2015,” Kishi said, citing a Chattisgarh high-court ruling that banning non-Hindu religious “propaganda,” prayers and speeches was not a violation of non-Hindus’ constitutional right to preach and propagate their religion.
“Officials of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at both the central and state government levels made statements that India should be exclusively Hindu,” Kishi added. “Minority communities, including Muslims, Christians and Sikhs, complained of numerous incidents of harassment by Hindu nationalist groups.”
The national government may not have issued any official nationwide diktats about religion, but events leading up to and in 2015 have sparked controversy throughout India. In the western state of Gujarat state anti-conversion laws do not allow people to adopt a religion without permission from the district magistrate, also hampering religious autonomy (paywall). In the north, Haryana decided to include the Hindu holy text, the Bhagwad Gita, in its school curriculum. Mass ghar wapsi (return to Hinduism) ceremonies, organized by a Hindu nationalist wing of the governing BJP, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), are viewed as an attempt to dismantle minority religions.

Why Muslims Hate Jews - Hate Queen Nonie Darwish

My comments are followed by Nonie Darwish’s article.

The only consumers of her article are those who have to hate someone or the other and she capitalizes on it and directs their ire towards Muslims, and obviously, there is a population out there that rewards her.

I have been with her on Sean Hannity show and have written two rebuttals in the past and here is another one.

First of all, for every Muslim ass, there is a Jewish, Christian, Hindu and others ass.  She quotes a Pakistani religious leader for making a ridiculous statement. Identical statements have been made by religious leaders of other faiths too. Rabbis, Pastors, and Pandits have made stupid statements like Peerzada.  Do they speak for the majority of the people? Hell, no!  You cannot shove bad guys in your face and tell that anyone associated with him – his family members, his co-religionists,  the mayor of the town or the governor of the state to be like him.

Nonie has made several ridiculous statements, “
Because his own tribe had rejected and ridiculed him, Mohammed needed the approval of the Jews, whom he called the people of the book.”  In fact, several Jews walked out on her when she was speaking in a Synagogue in Los Angeles, they could not bear her fabrications.

Muslims do not hate Jews, like everyone in the world, they are upset with the injustices met to the Palestinians and violations of the UN resolutions

I will complete this rebuttal in a few days and post it at http://hatesermons.blogspot.com

Why Muslims Must Hate Jews

Recently, a Pakistani religious leader, Pirzada Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafai, said: "When the Jews are wiped out ... the sun of peace [will] begin to rise on the entire world."  The same preaching is routinely done not only by clerics, but by politicians -- in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and elsewhere.  This is not just Ahmedinijad; it is at the heart of Islamic theology that world peace will be established only when all the Jews are wiped from the earth.  But few people in Western media are alarmed by this kind of rhetoric or care to expose this dreadful dark side of Islam's obsession with Jew-hatred.

I do not believe that one has to be an authority on human behavior or group thinking to find out the obvious pathology in Islamic Jew-hatred.  It is time for all of us to uncover and expose this atrocity against the Jewish people.  We owe that to humanity and the truth.

No true Muslim can see that such hatred is unbecoming and unholy for a world religion to focus on and that the credibility of Islam is tarnished by such hatred.  No Muslim is allowed to go far enough to self-analyze or ask why such hatred.  Muslims defend Jew-hatred by claiming that Jews betrayed Muhammad and thus deserving of this kind of treatment.  Even when I was a Muslim, I believed that the one-sided story against Jews by Islam was enough to justify all the killing, terror, lies, and propaganda by Islamic leaders against Jews.  To the average Muslim, routinely cursing Jews in mosques feels normal and even holy!

After a lot of thinking, analysis, research, and writing, I discovered that Jew hatred in Islam is an essential foundation to the Islamic belief system that Muslims cannot seem to be able to rid themselves of.  Jew-hatred masks an existential problem in Islam.  Islam is terrified of the Jews, and the number-one enemy of Islam is the truth, which must be constantly covered at any cost.  It does not matter how many Muslim men, women, and children die in the process of saving Islam's reputation.  The number-one duty of Muslims is to protect the reputation of Islam and Mohammad.  But why would a religion burden its followers like that?  This is why:

When Mohammed embarked on his mission to spread Islam, his objective was to create a uniquely Arabian religion, one created by an Arab prophet, which reflected the Arabian values and culture.  Yet to obtain legitimacy, he had to link it to the two previous Abrahamic religions, Judaism and Christianity.  He expected the Jewish tribes who lived in Arabia to declare him their Messiah and thereby bring him more legitimacy with Arabs, especially with his own tribe in Mecca, the Quraish.  Because his own tribe had rejected and ridiculed him, Mohammed needed the approval of the Jews, whom he called the people of the book.  But the conversion of Jews to Islam was part of the scenario that Mohammed had to accomplish in order to prove to Meccans that they had made a mistake by rejecting him.

That was one of the reasons Mohammed chose to migrate to Medina, a town that had predominantly been settled by Jewish tribes and a few impoverished Arabs who lived around the Jews.  The Jews allowed Mohammed to move in.  At the beginning, the Koran of Mecca was full of appeals to the Jews, who were then described as "guidance and light" (5:44) and a "righteous" people (6:153-154), who "excelled the nations" (45:16).  But when the Jews rejected the appeasement and refused to convert to Islam, Mohammed simply and completely flipped.  The Quran changed from love to threats and then pure hatred, cursing, and commandments to kill Jews.  Rejection by the Jews became an intolerable obsession with Mohammed.

Not only did the Jews reject him, but their prosperity made Mohammed extremely envious.  The Jewish Arabian tribes earned their living from legitimate and successful business, but Mohammed earned his living and wealth through warfare -- by attacking Arab tribes, some of whom were from his own tribe -- and trade caravans, seizing their wealth and property.  That did not look good for a man who claimed to be a prophet of God.  The mere existence of the Jews made Mohammed look bad, which led Mohammed to unspeakable slaughter, beheading of 600 to 900 Jewish men of one tribe, and taking their women and children as slaves.  Mohammed had the first pick of the prettiest woman as his sex slave.  All of this senseless slaughter of the Jews was elaborately documented in Islamic books on the life of Mohammed -- not as something to be ashamed of, but as justified behavior against evil people.

One does not have to be psychiatrist to see the obvious: that Mohammad was a tormented man after the massacre he orchestrated and forced his fighters to undertake to empower and to enrich himself and his religion.  To reduce his torment, he needed everyone around him, as well as future generations, to participate in the genocide against the Jews, the only people whom he could not control.  An enormous number of verses in the Koran encouraged Mohammed's fighters to fight, kill, and curse Muslim fighters who wanted to escape fighting and killing Jews.  The Quran is full of promises of all kinds of pleasure in heaven to those who followed Mohammed's killing spree and curses and condemnation to those who chose to escape from fighting.  Muslims were encouraged to feel no hesitation or guilt for the genocide because it was not they who did it, but rather "Allah's hand."

Mohammed never got over his anger, humiliation, and rejection by "the people of the book" and went to his grave tormented and obsessed that some Jews were still alive.  On his deathbed, Mohammed entrusted Muslims to kill Jews wherever they found them, which made this a "holy commandment" that no Muslim can reject.  Muslims who wrote sharia understood how Mohammed was extremely sensitive to criticism, and that is why criticizing Mohammed became the highest crime in Islam that will never be forgiven even if the offender repents.  Mohammed's message on his deathbed was not for his followers to strive for holiness, peace, goodness, and to treat their neighbors as themselves, but rather a commandment for Muslims to continue the killing and the genocide against the Jews.  Killing thus became a holy act of obedience to Mohammed and Allah himself.

Mohammed portrayed himself as a victim of Jews, and Muslims must avenge him until judgment day.  With all Arab power, money, and influence around the world today, they still thrive at portraying themselves as victims.  Sharia also codified into law the duty of every Muslim to defend Mohammed's honor and Islam with his own blood and allowed the violation of many commandments if it is for the benefit of defending Islam and Mohammed.  Thus, Muslims are carrying a huge burden, a holy burden, to defend Mohammed with their blood, and in doing so they are allowed to kill, lie, cheat, slander, and mislead.

Mohammed must have felt deep and extreme shame after what he had done to the Jews, and thus a very good reason had to be found to explain away his genocide.  By commanding Muslims to continue the genocide for him, even after his death, Mohammad expanded the shame to cover all Muslims and Islam itself.  All Muslims were commanded to follow Mohammed's example and chase the Jews wherever they went.  One hundred years after Mohammed's death, Arabs occupied Jerusalem and built Al Aqsa mosque right on top of the Jewish Temple ruins, the holiest spot of the Jews.  Muslims thought they had erased all memory of Jewish existence.

Mohammed's genocide of the Jews of Arabia became an unholy dark mark of shame in Islamic history, and that shame, envy, and anger continue to get the best of Muslims today.  In the eyes of Mohammed and Muslims, the mere existence of the Jewish people, let alone an entire Jewish state, delegitimizes Islam and makes Mohammed look more like a mass murderer than like a prophet.  For Muslims to make peace with Jews and acknowledge that Jews are humans who deserve the same rights as everyone else would have a devastating effect on how Muslims view their religion, their history, and the actions of their prophet.

Islam has a major existential problem.  By no will of their own, the Jews found themselves in the middle of this Islamic dilemma.  Islam must justify the genocide that Mohammad waged against the Jews.  Mohammad and Muslims had two choices: either the Jews are evil sub-humans, apes, pigs, and enemies of Allah, a common description of Jews still heard regularly in Middle Eastern mosques today, or Mohammad was a genocidal warlord not fit to be a prophet of God -- a choice that would mean the end of Islam.

Then and now, Mohammad and Muslims clearly chose the first worldview and decreed that any hint of the second must be severely punished.  Jews must remain eternally evil enemies of Islam if Islam is to remain legitimate.  There is no third solution to save the core of Islam from collapsing; either Mohammed was evil, or the Jews were evil.  Any attempt to forgive, humanize, or live peacefully with Jews is considered treason against Islam.  How can Muslims forgive the Jews and then go back to their mosques, only to read their prophet's words, telling them they must kill Jews wherever they find them?  It does not add up, if someone wants to remain Muslim.

That is why the number-one enemy of Islam is, and must remain, the truth.  If the truth exposes Islam's unjustified Jew-hatred, Muslims will be left with an empty shell of a religion, a religion whose prophet was a murderer, a thief, and a warlord.  Without Jew-hatred, Islam would self-destruct.

Hindus maligning Muslims and Christians

Maligning Muslims and Christians

Our blog http://hatesermons.blogspot.com/  has responded to crazy statements from Noni Darwish, Wafa Sultan, Hannity, Riley, Spencer, Gabrielle, Geller and a whole lot of them. We have also responded to mindless Hindus and Muslims alike.

One Subodh Kumar on facebook posted denigrating stuff about Christianity and Islam while uplifting Hinduism. He forgot that his narration applies to Hindus as well as other religions.

Either he is blind or maligning others for whatever perceived gains he has on his mind.  He forgets that for every Muslim ass, there is a Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Buddhist ass out there.

Every religion is about bringing peace to an individual and peace with what surrounds him or her.  Religions are designed to create orderly societies. A small band of followers violate the very guidelines they are supposed to follow.

He forgot as many things about Hindus as he wrote about others. Let a Dalit marry a Brahman, let a Hindu marry a Muslim – all hell will break loose with the violence and extremism. One Dalit groom rode on the horse in a village and he was beaten up, a Dalit cannot be above ground level than others.  This week (December 18, 2017) in Gujarat  the dreadful treatment meted out to Dalits at Una and later at a Navratri dance festival where a Dalit was brutally murdered by a group of high caste boys for just watching the show.

Let a Dalit or a lower caste Hindu go to the regular temple and worship, not only will he get beaten but the temple will be washed 7 times.

Dalit villages have been burnt, Dalit women have been raped and hung on trees, Dalits boys have been murdered because the did well in schools while their master's upper caste Hindus sons did not do well in exams.

Muslim men have been lynched and harassed and killed.  Atheist writers have been murdered in broad day light, Christian Nuns have been raped, and Ghar ki bahu (daughter in law) is dosed in kerosene and burnt alive for not bringing enough dowries. Girls at birth are killed, honor killings are rampant....

Nearly 5000 Sikhs were murdered in a matter of 3 days, 2000 Muslims were murdered in Gujarat…

Is Hinduism a violent religion? No, it is not, it does not teach any of the above violent acts mentioned above. Hinduism is about being truthful just as other faiths. Painting other religions badly is not Hinduism, it is Hindutva.

A few Hindus commit that non-sense, just like a few Muslims, Christians and Jews do foul things. Hindutva is not Hinduism, Neocons are not Christianity, Islamism is not Muslims, Extremist of Zionism do not represent Jews, Buddhists in Burma do not represent Buddhism.  We have to be smart and focus on bad guys and not on their religion or the nation.

For every Muslim ass, there is a Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist and other ass.

I have done extensive work on these subjects, and I welcome anyone to visit the tabs workshop, Festivals, Programs, Calendar, Wisdom…. At www.CenterforPluralism.com

…….. …

The following note was compiled by Subodh Kumar at facebook:

Very Interesting facts!
Christianity ….One Christ, One Bible Religion…
But the Latin Catholic will not enter Syrian Catholic Church.
These two will not enter Marthoma Church .
These three will not enter Pentecost Church .
These four will not enter Salvation Army Church.
These five will no enter Seventh Day Adventist Church .
These six will not enter Orthodox Church.
These seven will not enter Jacobite church.
Like this there are 146 castes alone for Christianity,
Each will never share their churches for fellow Christians!
How shameful..! One Christ, One Bible, One Jehova???

Now Muslims..! One Allah, One Quran, One Nabi....! Great unity?
Among Muslims, Shia and Sunni hate and kill each other in all Muslim countries.
The religious riots in most Muslim countries is always between these two sects.
The Shia will not go to Sunni Mosque.
These two will not go to Ahamadiya Mosque.
These three will not go to Sufi Mosque.
These four will not go to Mujahiddin mosque.
Like this it appears there are 13 castes in Muslims.
Killing/bombing/conquering/ massacaring/... each other!
American attack on Iraq was fully supported by all Muslim countries surrounding Iraq !
One Allah, One Quran, One Nabi....????

Hindus -
They have 1,280 Religious Books, 10,000 Commentaries, more than one lakh sub-commentaries for these foundation books, innumerable presentations of one God, variety of Aacharyas, thousands of Rishies, hundreds of languages.
Still they all go to All TEMPLES and they are peaceful and tolerant and seek unity with others by inviting them to worship with them whatever God they wish to pray for!

Rival White Supremacist Groups Unite To Fight “Race War”

What should we do about it?

My first response when I saw this was "forgive them lord, for they know not". So much hatred for Jews? Why? What is the root cause of it? what needs to be done to mitigate this hate for fellow beings? There is a way out, and I will have to read this and understand this to find a possible solution.  I know for certain, hate will multiply the problem.

These are our fellow humans, we have to figure out how to channel their hate and get them the freedom and peace of mind they deserve. No human has to live in hate.

Help me God.

In April, a coalition of white supremacists gathered to light up a cross—and plan the future of hate in America
Apr 28, 2016 at 6:01 AM ET

The Georgia Peach Oyster Bar sits along a rural highway about 45 miles west of Atlanta. From the outside, it could pass for a single-story house if not for the neon beer signs. Inside, it looks like any other dusty saloon in the dregs of Dixie: a bar, pool tables under Bud Light lamps hanging from the ceiling, a TV mounted in the corner of the room. It’s what’s behind a single doorway leading to a backroom that makes the Georgia Peach unique.
Dozens of white nationalists from various groups across the country gathered here on a Saturday night in April and spirits were high, giving the room the feel of a white supremacist theme park. In one corner, a tattoo station where shirtless men were getting inked up. In another, a guy sold T-shirts featuring swastikas and hooded Ku Klux Klansmen with the words “The Original Boys in the Hood.” Centered along a back wall was a stage with a podium, the backdrop comprised of a banner with the contact information for the National Socialist Movement (NSM), the predominant neo-Nazi group in the United States, as well as swastikas and other white nationalist imagery.

A porch off the back of the building looks out over a multi-acre horse pasture, an idyllic country scene were it not for the 15-foot wooden cross and swastika that three neo-Nazis were wrapping in burlap and dousing in gasoline in preparation for the night’s festivities. Inside the bar, attendees milled about smoking cigarettes and sipping drinks in celebration of what they are calling an historic event.
Later, after the sun had set on the Georgia Peach, approximately 75 white supremacists gathered in the horse pasture. Members of different factions of the Ku Klux Klan, in ceremonial robes and hoods, were joined by members of the NSM and several other white nationalist groups, as well as several unaffiliated individuals who are sympathetic to the white nationalist agenda. They had all flocked to Georgia that day to attend two racially fueled rallies in support of the “white pride” movement. Each person in the group was given a wooden torch before forming a circle around the cross and swastika.
“For God! For race! For nation!” Will Quigg, the Grand Wizard of the California chapter of the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, shouted to the group of white nationalists. “Approach your symbol. Do not turn your back on the symbol.”
On Quigg’s command, the group set the two symbols ablaze. Cheers of “White Power” echoed across the field.
It would be just another rally for racists were it not for the cross and the swastika burning side-by-side. For those unfamiliar with the white nationalist movement, both are racist emblems that seemingly go hand in hand. But for those in the movement, the union of these two symbols is the dawning of a new era of white supremacy.

Neo-Nazi groups, Klan organizations and other breeds of white nationalists generally have similar beliefs: the superiority of the white race. They advocate for a white nation. Historically, some members of these groups have used violence to push their agendas. But these groups don’t get along—their differences often come down to issues as petty as what uniforms to wear—which has led to a lack of organization and little unity amongst factions. If you ask the organizers, the party at the Georgia Peach was the beginning of a new wave of the white nationalist movement. An era of cooperation, organization, and unity—a grand collaboration to push the movement forward.
“This is making history,” NSM Commander Jeff Schoep told the group as the cross and swastika continued to burn. “We are putting together all the white organizations … There is no more time for division, whether it’s over religion, whether it’s over uniforms, whether it’s over symbols. If you’re still trying to create division and you’re trying to say you’re involved in this white power movement, there is something wrong with you.”
The previous night, Schoep presided over a meeting of the newly-formed Aryan Nationalist Alliance. Gathering at the Georgia Peach with the leaders of the other groups, Schoep and his brethren signed a document pledging support to this new umbrella organization of white supremacists. The alliance guarantees each group’s autonomy and pledges support to each organization. “Our race is our nation, and our skin is our uniform,” the agreement states. One NSM member said he hoped the organization would lead to a legal resource center for white people and even a college fund for white children.
“This is something we haven’t seen in the United States in maybe forever, at least in decades,” Schoep told Vocativ. “So it was something that I felt needed to be done and needed to be said. So we came up with Aryan National Alliance and drafted a document and basically said this is something all the groups need to do: come together. We have about ten organizations on so far and should have a few more coming on.
“We’ve had a major problem with [infighting] in the past,” he continued. “Groups would hate each other and sometimes it would even erupt in violence. And we put an end to it once and for all.”
Warning: Video below contains strong language and images that some may find offensive.
The official alliance of white supremacist organizations comes at a time when there is a surge in extremist organizations emerging across the country. White nationalists see a litany of significant problems that draw people to their ranks, including lax border security and President Barack Obama’s executive actions to give U.S. citizenship to millions of undocumented immigrants. Then there’s the federal government’s plan to allow Syrian refugees into the country, not to mention the removal of the Confederate battle flag from statehouses across the South after Dylann Roof, a self-made white supremacist inspired by white-pride rhetoric, allegedly killed nine people at a predominantly black church in South Carolina. Add to that the candidacy of Donald Trump, who has certainly helped fan the flames of white supremacy with his anti-immigrant rhetoric. The success of the Black Lives Matter movement threw additional fuel on the fire.
“We have a black president, gay marriage is now legal in this country. There’s so many modernizing influences over the last 20 years or so,” said J. Michael Martinez, an expert on Klan history and author of “Carpetbaggers, Cavalry, and the Ku Klux Klan.” “So many Klansmen have those old South values and they’ve become increasingly marginalized. Their isolationist behavior has not been good for them for the last 20 years or so. I hate to say it, but it’s probably a good move for them to organize and do things differently than they have for the last few decades.”

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights advocacy group that keeps tabs on extremist groups like the Klan and the NSM, there has been a 14 percent increase in extremist hate groups in the U.S. since last year. As Vocativ has previously reported, those numbers may be skewed. But the white nationalist movement believes that now is the time to make a big play, appealing to the masses that they believe are fed up with society’s ongoing drift from white, Euro-centric culture.
“We have the potential to reach truly millions of people with our message of European culture of faith, family, and folk—and solidarity—that the Republicans could never reach,” white nationalist Matthew Heimbach, a rising star in the movement, told a crowd of about dozen or so members of a neo-Confederate group in March. “We have the potential to be able to work with so many of these millions of families to be able to then move them in our direction. Donald Trump is a gateway drug…we can then move them from civic nationalism and populism to nationalism for us—and these people are ready for our message.”
When asked directly whether the white nationalist movement has an undertone of violence, the leaders will tell you no—it’s hard to recruit people from the mainstream when advocating for the death of a particular group. But when they’re standing around a burning cross, all bets are off.
“Death to the ungodly!” “Death to the Jews!” “How many Jews can you fit in a Volkswagen? However many you can fit in the ashtray!”

Those are the types of comments that were made by white nationalists in the pasture that night. As the swastika and cross fizzled out, Grand Dragon Quigg urged members to prepare for battle.
“It’s time to unite! It’s time to fight! And we’ll discuss politics when it’s over,” he shouted to the group. “The race war is upon us. We need to have our weapons ready. We need to have food and water stored.”

One-on-one, however, members of the groups sing a more moderate tune.
“We’re a political movement, we’re not a hatred movement,” one NSM member said, explaining that white nationalists don’t seek out violence, but will defend themselves vigorously if violence finds them.
Without any sort of organization, recruitment has been an ongoing struggle for the white nationalist movement. That, too, is changing, according to leaders within the movement.
“We’re using social networking. We still use the old-school leaflets. We have NSM records,” said the NSM’s Schoep. “We’ve got the music. We’ve produced video games … There’s so many things that we do to outreach … We try to be all-encompassing.”
The NSM has an active Twitter account and also produces National Socialist podcasts used to recruit new members. Facebook, however, deletes all of the NSM’s accounts, the leaders said, so they’ve abandoned a Zuckerberg-approved recruitment strategy. Face-to-face meetings, said Schoep, is still the organization’s bread-and-butter.

One of the unaffiliated white nationalists present at the Georgia Peach was a 36-year-old man who declined to give his name. He was wearing a Donald Trump campaign T-shirt that said “Lyin Ted,” referring to Trump’s nickname for Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Trump’s top opponent in the GOP primary for president. He said he drove to Georgia from South Carolina to attend a white nationalist rally at Stone Mountain, a site sacred to the KKK that is often referred to as the “Confederate Mt. Rushmore,” due to the relief of Confederate heroes Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Jefferson Davis carved in the side of the mountain.
This man said he’d never been a part of any particular white nationalist group, but that he’d seen some of the literature online and decided to make the trek to Stone Mountain to show his support for movement. While he was there, he met other white nationalists who invited him to the after-party at the Georgia Peach, about an hour away from the Stone Mountain rally. He made the drive alone in his two-door Saturn, but was embraced by the robed Klansmen once he arrived. By the end of the night, despite having never participated in a white nationalist event before, he was standing in a circle with a torch in his hand, eagerly waiting to light the cross on fire.

Not everyone is convinced that unifying individual groups of white nationalists will be successful, or is even in the best interest of the movement. According to Klan expert Martinez, the lack of a centralized organization traditionally has been “both the strength and the weakness—they were everywhere and they were nowhere. It was all so shadowy and behind the scenes.”
Mark Pitcavage is a senior research fellow at the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism, a civil rights advocacy group similar to the Southern Poverty Law Center. He scoffs at the white nationalists’ confidence in the success of their new alliance.
“Bless their hearts,” he told Vocativ. “I’m sure they’re cross-half-burned sort of people. They’re probably also ignorant of how these things have gone in the past.”
According to Pitcavage, this is hardly the historic moment the white nationalists are making it out to be. “This is something that white supremacists try every now and then. There have been Klan umbrella groups and other generic umbrella groups. They last for a couple of years. It doesn’t really help them do anything that they weren’t already doing.” Regardless, he said, these types of groups are still very dangerous.
The threat from groups like the Ku Klux Klan and the NSM isn’t from the organizations themselves, but from individual members inside the groups and those who are susceptible to white nationalist propaganda—people like Dylann Roof who buy into the rhetoric and take action into their own hands.
“They’re not doing crime at the behest of the group,” said Pitcavage. “The dangerous ones are individuals doing an act. They’ve been radicalized by the group but then go off and do their own thing. The criminal activity comes from the movement, not the groups.”

Perhaps even more dangerous than groups like the Klan and the NSM are other, milder groups that help push a watered down version of the white supremacist agenda into the mainstream. Take, for instance, Matthew Heimbach, the new face of white nationalism.
“What’s different about Matthew Heimbach is this: you have the tattooed racists who wear their hate on their sleeves,” said Marilyn Mayo, another research fellow at the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism, who previously spoke to Vocativ. “Then you have the intellectual, business-suit racists like Jared Taylor [a Yale-educated white nationalist] who wouldn’t be caught dead with a white power tattoo. Heimbach is somewhere in between. He’s the youthful leader… He’s the bridge between hardcore racists and the intellectuals.”
Each of the white nationalist leaders with whom Vocativ spoke agreed that Heimbach is someone they’d like to see join the Aryan Nationalist Alliance, but there are no plans to change their agenda to fall more inline with mainstream beliefs. Said NSM Commander Schoep, “Our founder, Commander [George Lincoln] Rockwell, he said, ‘you know, they’re gonna call us Nazis anyway. So by god, we’ll give them Nazis.’”
